Oh so many choices to what my second DNA200 mod will be. Life is good.

Quick question: what is everyone's' experience with the DNA200 reading coils? My DNA200 is reading my Crown's nickel coil (rated as 0.15) as .19 or .20. The ipv4 is reading it as .175 or so when I set the resistance.Temperature control works great though, just not sure what to make of this.
What DNA mod is that.. Hana .. Head over to evolv forum where they are discussing some wrong resistance reads with them.. If not just neglect this post

If you want a small mod, why not just get a rDNA40 or SBody Macro and build your atomizer to the mod (like most people did with mechs) rather than try to build a super low ohm coil that needs 100w?
The ipv d2 is smaller, considering that (also in order to test out a Yihi chip). I have three tc mods. They range from 40-60w, but I rarely go over 30. I'm mostly interested in the DNA200's advanced capabilities, not so much the high wattage (though I'd like to try out builds that require more power).

Oh, and the dna40 is really yesterday's tech at this point.

Just found something interesting about batteries!
Maybe the solution for autonomy vs size? Maybe more expensive than a lipo 3s?
This is about the technique, not the quantities of the cell! I can't find a video about a 3s 18650...

How to do it with 3 x 18650 with the balance charging :

Damn, they stole my idea lol. The batteries are supposed to be kept together anyway so making a dedicated pack is a natural. Once you assemble a polarized power connector and the balance connector, it's a 3S pack with no need for any reverse battery protection.

Probably by boat... Mine says the same since July, 27

Hi everyone, i read this entire thread but cant recall seeing this, and hope its not a dumb question : How is a DNA200 mod powered off for battery replacement ?

I ask this because i intend to get a mod w/a user replacable lipo pack capability, as in the board having the JST-XH 4 wire balance harness and an XT60 plug wired in such a way that it will be easy to just disconnect and reconnect a lipo pack that comes stock w/same connectors, w/o any soldering.

Also, is there any downside to having this type setup ? (XT60 male And female connectors)
(i know what evolv says, but i have zero soldering experience, and simply cannot bring myself to spend $200-250 on a mod that needs to be mailed somewhere just for a batt replacement. For one example: if i ever accidently dropped the mod i would likely want to replace the lipo just to be safe)

The 200 powers off (hard sleep) after about 1 hour of non use. All DNA's (20,25,30,40,200) do not have a manual power off feature and user replaceable (example 18650) batteries have been used, as you know, for years. Replacing a worn out Li-Po should be a matter of plug and play just like a DNA40 with an 18650 battery as long as the battery +/- is not soldered to the board (by using a XT30, XT60, Bullet connectors, etc.). Only difference is you unplug the Li-Po as opposed to just taking out a 18650 and replacing it.

Hope this helps.

You don't need to turn the device off to replace the battery.

The only downside with the XT60 connector is the size.

thanks guys, definitely helps, i guess no LiPo experience threw me off a bit,
Really like that Vapor Marek mod from a few pages back, it looks nice & is the 1st mod i saw that has the exact setup i've been looking for, but the modder is apparently in Germany & i cant see any way to buy one as of now.
But no prob, i know i can find same setup in a different mod soon enough, & dont mind a little bit less batt capacity as a tradeoff for the extra connectors enabling "plug & play" w/the LiPo packs.

Honestly I have been using these things to connect the power leads to the board for easy swappable lipos

tumblr_nssb430tFa1r31daro1_250.jpg

We use them for our cooktops and such. they can handle up to 400 volts and are rated for up to 32 amps so the 23 amps being pulled out of the batteries is no issue.

Protovapor has theirs out now..XPV DNA-200D | Protovapor.com

Excellent, at least two with swappable LiPo. Now we're talkin'!

Interesting.... took a quick look and noticed this:

XPV mods are covered by a 1 year parts and workmanship warranty. Batteries are warrantied for DOA only.

For a limited time after launch, the XPV DNA-200D will also be added to the HELLO2015 free domestic shipping coupon.

This initial offering of the XPV DNA-200D is available in teal blue only, other colors will be available in the near future.

I also noticed in the Evolv forum that :

Protovapor were instrumental during the beta in pushing for certain features. Without them, we wouldn't have profiles on the 200 at all.

It is an Opus 200. I would say it generally reads .01 ohm higher than the IPV4 does which makes me question the IPV4s accuracy. Thank you for pointing that out, I'll go read that thread. I'm hoping this issue is limited to the Hanas.

Also,
What is everyone's understanding in the why there is a range of prices for the Protovapor XPV? EDIT (thanks ali) Looks like they have options like that belt clip which I would want to avoid (guessing this is for the delrin end plates and such). Is it just me or was it also 160 something dollars and now is 184.95?
