The problem with these high powered mods, is people are building them like they would a mech, then complain it's too much power, burns their liquid, vape is too hot, or set their wick on fire.....:-o
Just like with the batteries, you absolutely MUST educate yourself on what you are working with, and too many people don't. I do a dual stovetop build that can easily handle 200+ watts, and at that wattage the vape is warm....not hot. I hate to see equipment get a bad wrap due to user error.
Sent with one hand, the other is busy vaping.

Checkout that plumes of hazard video, 3 of them have the beta mod.

For anybody that hasn't watched it yet, you might reconsider....

Starts off at about 34:00 minutes and just drags on forever...

But what I'm NOT hearing is ...positives.

I'm hearing a 3 guys dance around from having to say that they don't like it.

Cuz if they loved it and thought it was a killer device, they'd have stated it right away.

I'm sure that a lot of peeps are gonna want to see Phil's review, but you can bet that you're not gonna see it until after it's release.

Was this video above "bad press" for Evolv's release of the 200?

No question....IMO.

I didn't see it that way at all. Of course, every single one of your posts in this thread have been negative so it's easy to see why you'd think that. I can't stop you from posting in this thread, but it's obvious that you have no intention of purchasing the product so I'm scratching my head, wondering why your here.

But he kind of does have a point... I've only watched a small part but they didn't seem overall positive and they all pointed out that you can upgrade the firmware, which means this thing has problems. You would have thought that with all the experience with the DNA40 it wouldn't be this buggy.

Cuz it's a discussion thread, in the APV Discussion area...not a vendor thread.

The thread is specifically here for peeps to share information.

At 37:55 is where the host sums up what's going to said about it....
I'm pretty sure that some of our posters view the thread as one intended to express "religious faith".
Under those rules all doubt or discussion of provable fact is regarded as heresy.

I watched it last night and thought it was positive overall. The negatives were directed at the power output in general and how Evolv is putting out an accurate 200w unlike what's out there now.

Now a noob thinking he can vape at 200w will try it on the DNA200 and inhale fire. Not a good scenario for anyone.

These are beta test units though...bugs are inevitable and sometimes a lot of them. :) Glad they're finding them! Gives Evolv a chance to stomp them out.

I agree. There are going to be a lot of watt-chasers who, for their first mod, get one of these.

Hehe...while I happen to LOVE my DNA30 custom mini and I have a few DNA40 larges yet to build, it's pretty obvious that I LIKE Evolv's products.

However, I also like to be informed...and I hope that everyone else would too. :)

And the majority of that information will come from other people's opinions and use experience.

Hence why reviewers are so popular and why so many of us rely on their reviews.

Exactly. Plenty of work to do. The main gripe was the preheat being too much, which is a problem if you don't have a pc, since from what I understand, the preheat can be adjusted. Heck, it probably will be by, or close to launch. As for positives? Well, they all agreed that it's the first mod to give true high wattage, and that temp control on 26 gauge is amazing. Again, it's a beta. These guys had their devices for two days.

This is true. However, look no further than the cell phone, pc, and video game market to see what's wrong with this plan. Evidently mod makers have these chips in hand and unless there's a way for them to update these chips before release, the beta is what the initial buyers will get. Hopefully they have an update right away, but this isn't going to be perfect out of the box, and wasn't intended to be imo. This is a true advanced vapor chip, where power points are fully adjustable by user.

Will be interesting to see how Evolv comes out and markets this chip.

For me the fact that the mod gives a warmer vape in higher wattages, in TC mode, seems like a fundamental problem.

How long will the beta process be I wonder? I hope the DNA beta test will go on for a few months before the device is released so that Evolv gets the best possible data on real life performance and can touch up hardware and software as required for a positive product introduction. I'm a little concerned that the beta test might be rushed since some folks are promising delivery in days for preorders. It could be that it's a staged beta where some folks have had the device for several months and some are in the late beta period and have only had the unit for a couple days.

If there are folks who are beta testers could you let us know how long you have had to work with the device?

It would also be interesting to know how detailed the operating instructions and other information that comes with the DNA 200 device is. That user communication will also be important to a positive product introduction for us new users.

I honestly don't think 40 watts was enough to get the warmth. Either lack of wicking or airflow bottlenecked the warmth. With more wattage one can get there instantly darn near. We may just have to adjust our temps. when you think about it, 400 degrees is hot.
