I can't believe the amount of fools in this thread right now. Fools that believe LiPos are evil and can't be used in a safe and effective manner. Guys like
@tchavei that is spreading rumors about RC heli guys charging cells beyond 4.2v. Sorry, being an RC heli guy for more than 20 years, and dealing with LiPos in RC helis for the last 10 I know you are full of crap. There isn't a single mainstream charger out there for LiPos for RC heli use that doesn't cut off at 4.2v/cell and as long as a balance charge is used monitor each cell individually keeping the charge voltage between cells at less than .2v. Even a cheap 39.95 charger will do that. If your "friend" charged above 4.2v on any cell he had some homebrew charger that he cobbled together in his garage and didn't have a purpose made charger for RC use. I believe Evolv does have a purpose made charger for LiPo use, and will not present the issues your "friend's" homebrew charger does.
The LiPo argument is just BS in it's entirety since we have years of data on mods like the MVP that have been using them successfully in the real vapers world without serious issue. I haven't heard this argument leveled against the MVP line, but all of the sudden it's an issue for Evolv? Please, think about it for a minute or two. The Evolv DNA200 has a balance charger on board to specifically prevent the issues many are saying will occur. It just won't. LiPo charging is not in it's infancy and the tried and true CC/CV method of charging with balancing between cells is robust, safe and has been used for many years in many different industries and hobby uses. And it has proven to be not the unsafe fire hazard that some here are purporting it to be. It is a mature tech that been proven over time.
I do understand that many people are ignorant of how LiPo charging works and all the safety measures good charging algorithms and monitoring entail. And I would encourage those folks to at least google how this is done before making uninformed speculation on the dangers of LiPo technology. I can tell you that if it is as many have unintelligently presented here really existed, it would not be a mainstream tech for phones, notebooks, RC hobbies, and yes, vape products. Please speak from an informed perspective before coming to an erroneous conclusion.
