Not a very pocket friend solution :)

This would be perfect for testing the board prior to committing to installing it.

I have very large pockets :) (with built in AC, apparently.)

No, my building a mod is like the proverbial talking dog. One does not question how well it is done; the marvel is that it is done at all :)

I'd already decided that getting a board and battery mounted in a portable box that I felt confident enough to actually lift up and move was at best optimistic and at worst downright dangerous. I do 95% of my vaping at my desk, and I certainly do all my testing/research there, so I figure if it will make it the slightest bit easier to build, I'll do a fixed installation :) Then when I can get my hands on a professionally made dna 200 mod, I will get that too :)

I have actually bought a 3s Lipo pack, but then when I realised the power supply made life a bit easier, I got one of those too. I'll start with PSU and then I've always got the battery if/when I feel like trying to make it more portable.

The backpack, you gotta do the backpack. And I guess a portable nuclear reactor to power the power supply.

But are you laughing with him?

Nothing wrong with a little bench testing before you actually finalize what kind of a mod you'll build.

3d print designs are popping up everywhere. Take your time!

Well, it's here. Quite possibly the most anti-climatic exciting package I have ever received :)

No battery and wires until tomorrow so in the meantime I guess I'll.. put the lid back on. :)
I see the shipping gods have again smiled on you! That was fast!

Perhaps this is not the place for this post and if so I apologize in advance. Riptripper had a video on youtube yesterday where he was blowing clouds and extollong the virtue of some mystry prot type mod with the DNA200 chip inside. Interesting for me.
That's beta mod from Evolv given out to beta testers

It lives! No power supply or 510, but.. it lives!

Of course I had to customise it. The alien looks terrible in black and white (not to mention squashed to hell in 128x32), but the words themselves really rather work :)

Or as the original source would put it:

"..it scores over the older, more pedestrian work [because] it has the words DON’T PANIC inscribed in large friendly letters on its cover."

"I like the cover. 'DON'T PANIC.' That's the first helpful or intelligible thing that anyone's said to me all day."

Evolv released the IGS and STEP files for the case. I converted them to STL and am waiting on a quote for a 3d print in ABS plastic.
I upload STL of the case (except for whole 510 & screw to attach the case) to Shapeways and seems that it didn't pass the wall thickness. So I think some editing needed to pass wall thickness check.
