DNA 30 Question

I hear everybody talking about the dna 30 / dna 20, etc, so I decided to Google it yesterday as I'm still pretty new to all of this. Looks to me like it's just a board for a VV/VW mod. How would one use this? Do you need to actually build your own mod, or is it insertable in certain types of existing mods? I see a lot of people comparing it to something like the ProVari, just curious as to the real difference as the ProVari looks to me to be a ready to use mod.

You can either build your own mod using the board... or buy a pre-made mod... like the VaporShark DNA20, HanaModz, Reo, etc.

Is there an advantage to using the DNA 30 over something like the ProVari?

It's a different chip set. The dna30 (or even 20) is more powerful than the provari chip set. The 30 means it's capable of 30 watt output from a single battery, the Provari chip maxes out at i believe 15 Watts, but only in certain circumstances can you push it that far. Also the provari measures in volts, the dna chip measures in Watts. There are many other differences but that's the basic jist without getting to technical.

DNA30 is for those looking for MOAR POWA!!!! out of a regulated mod. something that will sub ohm and fill the room with cloud, but cut off when the battery gets low for example.

first available mod with a DNA30 that i'm aware of is the ZNA that was supposed to drop on the 15th of this month. ZNA

so as of now, i don't believe there's a DNA30 ready made mod available for sale quite yet.

I have a Hana Modz Pack v3 (DNA30) on it's way. Should be here on Monday. They sold out crazy fast, but were available a couple of days ago.

EDIT: Looks like delivery will be Tuesday... Damn holidays.

HanaModz is selling a DNA30 billet box from what I gather. You have to order it from their Facebook page and provide payment within 12 hours from what I read (I think it was on the CaliVapers website). The Zen ZNA (DNA30 chip) was supposed to go on sale 12/27/13 but then got pushed back to 1/15/14, then 1/16/14, now 1/17/14. Something about having to redo the buttons on them because they used the DNA30 instead of the DNA20.

The v2 I had was about the size of a pack of cigs.. No more trouble to carry than a tube mod IMO. The v3 is the same size AFAIK. I like the 23mm recess around the 510 connector, which will fit most any RBA currently available.

JFYI, note that in order to get 20/30 out of it - you would need *full* battery,
otherwise it might not fire, there are some reports to note this point.
