This new dna mod stuff. I vape watts only. I have voodoo and elegance and obs cube. I vape 65-90 watts. But sometimes I forget my tank is empty and get burnt coil. Does dna stop this?

Yes - but only if you are in temperature control (TC) mode. Let us know what tanks and coils you are using - as only the below wires work on TC mode.

Ok thank you. Right now I have voopoo and I don’t use they force. I have a falcon tank and the same on my obs cube. Oh the voopoo and the obs cube both have internal batteries. I’m too busy for all the other builds and batteries thing. I’ve smoked rollies for 20 years. I quit 7 months ago and vape like morning till night. Like 40 mls a day in the tanks. I just switch from charging the mod to the next. 4400 milliamps and 3000. Milliamps. Internal. But now I’m to the point where I live this stuff. I feel great. I don’t smoke. But I want more. The lost vape dna looks cool. I don’t care too much about the cost. I just want to know if it’s a better experience. I use the coils they sell me. Double or triple mesh with bamboo or whatever.

No, unless you are using TC compatible coils/mesh in TC mode.

You may notice a difference in wattage mode with a DNA unit, but it will not prevent dry hits.
Again, as mentioned by @AngeNZ , Temperature Control only works with coils/mesh constructed from TC compatible materials. (SS,Ti,Ni,Zr.)

I smoked for 30 years, rollies at the end 2+ PAD equivalent. I'm in the same boat as you with batteries and juice. I charge at least two 3000 maH batterie a day, I fill the bottle on my mod with every battery swap. When I switched from wattage to TC, I noticed I could get a better vape and would only drain half a battery per bottle. Your mileage may vary, but I don't have a dna mod. I have a dovpo, and a wismec I put are tic fox firmware on. Arctic fox is like dna, but for Wismec, eleaf, and joyetech mods. If your curious about dna, it's worth checking out, but that level of TC isn't needed to prevent or atleast greatly reduce the nastiness of a dry hit.

Falcon mesh coils are to my knowledge all Kanthal. Unless they offer a SS coil option, your tanks won't work in TC on any mod, including DNAs. Some people feel they get a better vape in wattage off of DNA mods, but I have my personal doubts, and I'm a user of a half dozen DNA mods. But they are built to a higher standard than average boards, and they do have more reliable internal circuitry for internal charging.

If you want one, money is not an issue, and you understand you won't be vaping in TC with a Falcon tank (unless there's a SS version, their competitor, Freemax mesh pro does offer one mesh coil option in SS, which works in SS, but doesn't perform as well as their dual a triple mesh coils which are Kanthal) a DNA mod can be a good investment should you ever change your vaping habits, and certainly works as well as any other mod in wattage.

Agree with everyone. DNA mods may offer a smoother wattage experience (IMHO) but they won't stop dry hits from draining the tank.

Honestly, I almost want to just say, uh, keeping an eye on your tank is probably easier than actually getting a TC setup. Maybe. Unless this is a habitual issue for you in which case using TC mode might be worth it.

Is there a particular reason you accidentally drain your tank like a vampire drains blood to the very bitter end? I usually notice and refill when I'm at 1/3 to 1/4 full if not sooner.

I'm mostly kidding but yeah, I am asking.

DNA 75C and 250C do not require Temp Control to mitigate dry burns. One can use their "Replay" feature but still must use a Temp Control compatible coil.

Replay works in a similar fashion to Temp Control where the device reads the rise in resistance of the coil and adjusts the power accordingly. As a temp control compatible coils heat up, their resistance rises – by monitoring this rise in resistance, the device can predict the temperature of the coil, through TC, or how saturated the wick is. The dryer the wick, the higher the resistance rises, the more the device scales back the power.

Wow thanks guys! I drain my tank cause I chain vape (mostly when I’m watching tv or driving) I just have a bad habit of not keeping my eye on my tank so i often get that nasty hit where it burns my mouth and throat and then I ruin the coil and throw them out. If I don’t have any coils I try to wash them with alcohol or vinegar or whatever else I think will work. Lol it usually don’t. Anyways I stated vaping a Juul. Then switched to a “broken down roller skate” (electrical tape on what I can’t tell you) then I bought the cube then voopoo mini. I see people doing all these “builds” with homemade coils and battery mods and so in and I’m so hooked on this vaping stuff. I mean the flavors are insanely good. No one complains about the smell. The only thing people say is that there are crazy clouds everywhere. Lol. Anyways I’m looking for the best experience and got some cool tips from this forum. Thank you all!

There is the new OFRF mesh tank that offers a ss mesh coil. Your voopoo will do ss tc but some devices are tricky using tc with mesh coils. Watch DJLsb vapes for tc spec review for your device and his review of the OFRF.

The problem with mesh is that it does not scale in heat as a typical coil does. I suspect many of the TC issues people have with mesh is due to their temperatures being too high.

I don’t know why but have read a few posts about people having trouble using VV ss mesh in tc. Especially the mesh with smaller holes.

Long post but I somewhat went into detail on the temperature of mesh, notably the 200 mesh from VV, here.

    Can’t get profile to TC

Replay mode..I currently use a Kylin M and SS mesh on a DNA 250C and noticed puff variations...under certain atty conditions such as dry tank or coil fail the mod seems to lose the replay setting and I need to reset using TC mode. I assume that good or bad replay will use the last puff in replay mode regardless of how it occurred.

Can’t say I’ve ever experienced Replay reset itself, even after removing the atty to change wicks (keeping the same coil). Ensure you have the latest Service Pack for your device. And ensure your coil is always at room temp when re-installing the atty.

Replay uses your saved puff as a reference, not the last. The puff variations with the mesh could be that it is not wicked properly. Any hot spots will spike the resistance to which Reply will scale the power back.

Your voopoo mod, if it's a more recent model will do temp control - which mod do you have?

As sad above, you just need a new tank which has tc compatible coils. Look for ss316 when you are buying coils. Here's a link below go the Free max Mesh Pro tank and it's tc coils.

    FREEMAX MESH PRO SUB-OHM TANK

FreeMax FireLuke Mesh Pro Replacement Coils | Vape Coils

From the coil selection above, you want this coil:
0.12 Ohm SS316L Single Mesh Coils (Mesh Pro)

    – sorry, should have mentioned. You can plot Replay in the Escribe Device Monitor. Any spikes in the resistance will show up, where you will see the device scale back the power.
Thanks, I should have tried that....next time I notice a change I will do a test puff....I really love the SS mesh. Do you know where to buy the VV SS mesh cut strips?
