DNA20 Battery issue

Hello,

I'm building my own DNA20 mod. I have already connected all the components and turned it on. 8 or 8.5 watt was the initial power and I had no problem vaping. But when I stepped it up to 9.5 or 10 watts I kept getting this message: "check battery".

I find it odd that I can vape on 8.5 watts but when I reach 9.5 it won't let me.

I believe this could be one of two things:

- either the battery I was testing on: the Samsung battery that comes with evic mod (I removed the battery from the evic and put it on the dna mod, and when I got the error message I put it back on the evic and it vaped on 10 watts)

- the battery connector: this piece came with a 24 gauge wire. I removed this wire and soldered a 20 gauge wire. I did read somewhere that the spring that comes with these battery holders sometimes is the problem and so it might be this holder that's causing the problem.

I was hoping you guys could help me with this issue. I'm very disappointed. I was so excited on building this mod and now it doesn't work properly.

The strange thing is that it works on 8.5 watts but when it reaches 9.5 gives me that error message.

Thanks in advance.

Your battery can't handle the load in the DNA. It's not the same setup as what the eVic uses.
It is also possible that the battery connector you used isn't up to the task also.
If you're going to build you own mods, it's suggested you get recommended parts that are known to be able to take the load.
