So I ordered a Bap lid for the 1590B hammond that would take dual 26650 Batts. This was not a tested lid and I was the 1st to order it and try it out. Attached is a picture. I used his buttons directly on the DNA40 board and also used a dual26650 cradle that is sold from Shapeways.
The only mistake I made was that I did not take into consideration the clearance for the cradle once glues in and the DNA40 when it was all "wired"... I needed 3 more mm for a good fit. As it stands for now I ended up using 18650s... Everything works perfectly... I blame myself for not considering the chip depth with wiring before gluing everything into place and soldering. But it works great with the 18650s. Just wish I had that 3mm to get the 26650s in.

So I took the original Hammond 1590B lid and dremeled out to the inside stops and slid it in under the BAP lid and had enough room to put in 26650 batteries. All is well now. All I need to do is tape off the BAP lid and repaint the box. Woo Hoo! Its a hefty unit but for around the house and at the office its awesome.

Good job. So you get a week between charges?
I hope Bap learns of your difficulties and modifies his design to add those 3mm.

Thanks. I have no idea how long this will go before I need a charge. I have been vaping on it for 2 days now and it still shows a full charge. I imagine if I let it get down to 1/4 battery life it'll take at least a few hours to get it up to full again. :) But if I am at the computer I can vape while it charges. Its been a real joy using the dna 40 though. I have built the Mamu DNA 30 box mod for the dual 18650s. I will at some point build another with the DNA 40. Even If Bap doesn't change the lid it is doable if I would of tried the fit with the Dna 40 mounted and not glued in the dual 26650 cradle. This is a sizable and hefty mod... Kinda like a short piece of 2X4.
