Do all cartomizers have a hard tip?

You were the kid in school that chewed up pencils right, lol, kidding. I have seen some soft covers but never been impressed with them.

Try a ming vase tip that way you only have the very tip of the drip in your mouth. I think it's going to be more of a getting out of the biting habit, than changing tips.

If you're using the small cig a likes try switching to a heavier battery to keep you from wanting to hold it in your mouth with your teeth.

Chewing a drip tip? *looks at my stainless steel tip and winces* that must hurt dude and probably not healthy for the coil at the bottom (residual saliva etc) fasttech is probably your best bet for soft tips but grab a silicone cover for now as FT takes awhile to arrive.

Make sure you know what type tip you need first.
