Do any of you run vaping related websites?

I own and operate www.vapocalyptic.com. It's dedicated primarily to hardware review and it serves as a good basis for SEO and free advertisement. I've been rethinking my business model lately, as I've been going through a period of stagnation. Some companies don't reach out, some never respond, others aren't interested.

What I come to ECF for, is suggestions. What could I do to take my website to the next level? Would adding other content such as deals, builds, news etc compromise the sanctity of a review based website? A lot of people suggest moving my medium to youtube... The traffic and ease of access is obvious, but this was strictly a blogging endeavor.

I'm not asking for a way to receive more product, simply take my vision to the next level... Only problem is, now that review work is slowing down, I'm not sure what else to do - I enjoy my website, the companies I've worked with, and the ability to inform the public... But I don't want to abandon it when company relations stagnate.

I guess it depends on who you're trying to attract to the site, but here are some things I would be more interested in... (I've briefly visited your site recently, but can't remember the specific page for the life of me).

I'm at a stage where I'm getting interested in mechs/rebuildables. I know you have enough experience with mechs, so you could certainly provide more info for people like myself.

I've tried the standard "mechanical mod safety" search in Google, and they're mostly all the same; Ohm's law, don't draw too much current or put your batteries in the wrong way, and so on.

But reading this forum, I've learned some things are less forgiving than others. Adjustable 510 connections and playing well with Kayfun (or any arty with a non-adjustable pin)? I'd never considered such an issue! For that matter, what points of your standard tube mech and/or RBA can be responsible for a nasty short?

Pocket-firing mods and battery shortage; will I still have a leg? Beats me!

Why should I clean my threads, I love a good patina!

Why should my coils be near airflow?

Those are some things I've thought about recently. I'm sure someone looking to get into eGos and tanks has a million other questions about their options/vape habits, and still more people looking to get into VV/VW have still more questions. Sure I might find your site if I'm looking up a particular juice/device/piece of hardware, but what if I'm just overwhelmed by making a change to my vaping style/set-up? (Again, I've just looked at the more recent posts, maybe there are posts like this)

Maybe these are outside your site's purview; I don't know. But I do know that I can't help but trust someone that teaches me something. The vape world is so vast, and you've carved your own unique path through it. This whole forum is devoted to knowledge, and I think its popularity speaks volumes about what people want.

You might want to reconsider only doing written reviews and possibly get on YouTube. You'll find the audience there, unless your website is well known or you spend a fortune in advertising you'll have a hard time reaching people via written reviews the way you're doing them now.

Not saying you're doing it wrong just for clarification, only giving you a friendly suggestion.

Thanks, guys. And I readeuler, I can definitely do something to help people understand maintenance, ohms law, general know how etc. And once again... Not looking for suppliers, or product, of any kind. Just advice on website ventures!!

And YouTube... Good ol YouTube... Afraid I'm a bit nervous on the spot and don't think the world needs to see my ugly mug!

You could start it slowly on youtube while giving a link in the description to your site.

"Texted review here: www....."

In that way you might draw traffic to your site + you're getting into the youtube scene.
