seems to me there are more beginners nowadays who chase than tootle puff. all the sub-ohm tanks and high power mods available today make it an easy and relatively low-risk place to start.

then again, it could just be a byproduct of where i live; there are a lot of b&m's around me who don't carry anything higher than 3mg juice...

all of us who were here before 2014 were tootle puffers. I was a tootle puffer for 4 1/2 years. You couldn’t have told me that I’d ever be doing direct lung inhales. But a product came out that changed how I vape and I was a happier vaper after. I am hitting a 0.26 ohm build at 65w as I type, chain vaping and the house is in a mist. I’m happier with the flavor, I’m happy with the increased vapor, and overall I find vaping more satisfying than I ever have.

That is MY story. We all have our own story, and the only one that is right for you is yours. We are all vapers, I’m not really into this subdivision nonsense. Oh and IMO cloud chasers are far more likely to be newbies than tootle puffers, so I hope they’re all using regulated mods so they don’t vent their batteries for not knowing what the hell they’re doing.

I think of it this way:

how many of us got introduced to vaping with ether "cigalikes" or "ego" style products?
    • how many kept using products that put out a similar amount of vapor?
    • how many ended up wanting more vapor and moved on to other products?
it is not hard for me to understand that those that want/demand/get more vapor can't understand why others can be satisfied with (sometimes much much) less however while I don't track "cigalike" sales figures, I can't imagine that ALL of the sales are first time buyers, I mean there's got to be some repeat business right?

hey I always liked the Bloog cigalikes back in the day. If I had one I’d still use it on occasion.

cigalikes and broken EGOs are the repeat vaping market ... a vaper like myself only needs to buy batteries.

I have been vaping for a few years now and i don't know if i am eligible or even qualified for "tootsie puffer" status , ( at least i hope not because it doesn't sound manly at all, not that i'm overly manly i might add , but i'm pretty rugged i would say) , anyway i still much prefer vaping on Nautilus tanks, Kayfuns etc...

I wonder about that stuff everytime I'm at a gas station.

All the old school stuff is either on clearance or under 3" of dust. That era is over.

But that gas station gear, stuff that I have never once seen anyone buy or use is always on display.

Around here you can't swing a dead cat without hitting 3 vape shops and you see people everywhere pulling on box mods and yet the gas stations are always full.

If I could think a way this could work I'd think conspiracy.

most of the vape gear I use is second hand used ... the eLiquid is DIY ... compared to smoking, vaping is practically free

Yep. I buy the slightly out of date cheap stuff. A Sigeli Zamx for $10, an iTaste VV3 for $10. 18500 batteries for a bit under $1 each. Got several 650 mah VV evod style batteries for about $3 each. I got 10 Kanger T3S's for $20 a few months ago. Kanger Evods for 1.50. I re-coil and re-wick and have better wicks than the original ones. I DIY all of my juice. 3 years worth of Salon coil cotton for a bit over $3. My actual consumable costs are under $1/day. And I vape around 10 ml per day.

I watched two vids on YouTube with experienced vape reviewers and in both, they suggested that using a 1.8 ohm coil or mouth-to-lung hitting were for "beginners". Do most "modwompers" (see...I used it!) think we "tootle puffers" (ugh!?!) are beginners? Zophie Vapes was one and I don't know too much about her but Rip Trippers was the other and I'd think he'd know some folks simply have no interest in sub-ohm vaping or lung hitting.

I've heard Similar comment by some Reviewers about... "This Tank would be Good for Beginners because it is So Easy to build on." I kinda Shake My Head when I hear things like that. Because I'm not sure where a Beginner is supposedly wanting to get to? To a Tank that is Hard to Build On?

I vape for Two Reason. To Not Smoke and for Flavor. In that Order.

I can Build Any Coil I have ever seen on this Forum. Have Multiple Coil RBA's/RDA's. Vaped from .02 ~ 3.0 Ohms. And Wattages up to 150 Watts. Yet my Day-2-Day Setup is a Subtank Mini Single 1.0 Ohm Coil @ about 16 Watts doing MTL Hits.

Why? Because they all keep me from Smoking. But that Set-Up Tasted the Best to me.

BTW - Has anyone ever Noticed that Every New RTA/RBA/RDA that come out is Better than the One Before it?

I think it’s more on the order of every four months of so a watershed tank/dripper comes out that vapes fantastic. This is followed by many new tanks/drippers that vape not as or vape nearly as well, and there is buzz revolving around all of them prior to and just after release. People like to take sides, and there is also personal preference.

And the reviewers. One thing, without the new stuff to review they would be out of business.
don't get me wrong I like watching some of them. But very few of them will test a 50 watt mod to see if it vapes nice at 8 watts....
Some do not go low even though they say they will.
