There was a poll last year on this site about age of those who vape. The largest percentage of vapers were in the 40 to 60 age group by a large margin. Since vaping has a learning curve and requires patience, I think there are a larger percentage of younger people who try it but don't stay with it because they have no patience.

Hey Phreaker - just when I'm vapin with the gang at work in the smokin section all the women ask me about it and want to try it right off, the guys are hesitant. If they have a question they'll call me later when we are back at our desks or slide me an email. They just seem all hush-hush about it and they won't try it in front of anyone. Mine is real plain, almost analog in size and all white. Lots of my girlfriends already vaping, only known 2 guys out of 20 that have bought their own. Thanks for writing me back.

Some guys dont take well to change, while others (like myself) are trend setters and could care less what people think. You will always have the proverbial tough guy that isnt willing to shirk the stereotypical I smoke so I look cool attitude. As for the rest of us our overbearing personalities out way the what other people think syndrome.

I'm 25 and I've been vaping for two weeks now... Guess I'm not the average guy haha. :)

VAPRGAL - at first from the title I thought this would be a question about if guys liked women that vaped and if we thought it was sexy. I would have said YES YES YES to that. But to answer the real question I am 45 and love technology and cool toys so for me vaping has become a hobby. So much so that my wife keeps asking me how many PV's do I really need? Maybe the guys at the office are a little uncomforatble asking infront of a group of women. you stated that they ask in private though. dormouse may be onto something about the biggest, baddest, newest thing with the guys but I have also seen some women on the Forum that know as much if not more about the latest and greatest and Modding as the guys. So the conclusion I draw is that this is a hobby that both sexes can enjoy and share equallly! Happy vapes to you

I think the whole guy at work being shy is an ego thing. Some men would find it hard to admit that a woman knows more about technology then he does, it would be even harder to do in front of a group, much less a group of women.
I'm not like that personally, but as a guy I can see that as a prop able reason. I was I traduced to vaping by my female yoga teacher, who is now ...... that I 33 day a in, k ow more about it then she does at about a year of vaping (shes on the forum I think yogapenny), but I'm 38 and LOVE VAPING it has saved my life, and yes I'm a dude.

The things I've notice here on ECF are that the men would appear more likely to move on to the larger mods a bit sooner and the woman more likely to wish to have their PV's look like cigarettes a bit longer. That's not to say the woman don't move to the larger mods but more seem to hesitate a bit longer. I also think more men really get into building there own mods than the woman but again both do build their own.

Personally I've had more woman ask me about my PV's BUT my first convert was a man. I let him try my Joye 510, Ego, and Roughstack and the next day he ordered his own Ego and has been smoke free from the first day it arrived.

Bingo! Men, especially if they perceive themselves as not being "high value", are innately reluctant to show weakness such as a lack of knowledge on a given topic in front of a group of people, especially women. By asking questions in this setting, they subconsciously feel they are showing themselves to be "less than knowledgeable" and setting up the person they are asking as an "Authority" in the social interaction.

That said, I'm a guy, and I would have asked about it. :)
