Frankly, i'm perfectly happy with poodlefluffing (or so i think). Anyhow, in a spot of boredom i was looking at *stuff* without intent. Found one of those Sega tanks at half price sale (top fill, with 1 Atlantis + 2 RDA coils + rebuilding kit ). They are down to the last few so i need to make up my mind quick.
The thing has quite mixed reviews (but then again most things do) - roughly 7/10 - ish.

On one side, i don't like a too warm vape - more of a tepid sort. I'm more of a mouth inhaler (mouthbreather? lol). I was smoking roll-ups (rolled thin & tight with extra-long filter) before i quitted, which meant a tiny little smoke plume - about a third of a vape.

On the other side, only once i had a puff from a sub-ohm dripper, and it felt... well, rather pleasant.
Also very tempted by the rebuilding part of it all.

Would it be wasted on me (i.e. would i waste the €20 on it, which i can't afford much to waste), or does it sound like a good idea?

(I have an iStick 30, so battery-wise i should be OK i think..)

Any help / advice pro or con much appreciated!!

+1 on the Subtank Mini. There are 0.5, 1.2, and 1.5 ohm coils for the STM. I don't push too terribly high - even with the 0.5 ohm coils. Most I think I went has been 24W. I don't care for super-warm vapes, either. I want flavor and cloud volume. The RBA is moderately simple (IMO) to build. There are channels in which you can catch the coil tail to get it tightened, so you don't necessarily have to wrap around the post screw.

Thank you both!!

Susan, that was a very helpful review! (a bit too helpful.... i bought it  )

Daleron, I REALLY should've waited a bit longer. (Well that was the whole point of asking, and i jumped the gun before even giving a chance to being talked out.) Just bought it before i read your reply.

I hope it will pan out OK. Been in the back of my head since a while now (since i found this forum, to be precise), i think at some point i would've given in anyway and probably spent more. So far i've been quite lucky with my purchases (except for a protank mini 3 - turned out i don't like the dual coil -, and 2 revolting juices).
Should arrive by Thursday or so, will report back!

(I'm just trying to justify it as 4 day's expense in rolling tobacco, but still...)

Thanks for all the new replies!

Well, it's a done deal by now - should've sat on it a bit longer.

I think the price was the catch, been flirting with the subtank mini before but couldn't bring myself to get one - esp. without figuring out how much i like the whole sub thing or not.
This was just about as much as i was willing to risk, for now at least.

Damn curiosity. :D

I think a Subtank Mini would be right for you.
Reliable simple and the V2 can go from very tight draw to moderate clouds. Also has an RBA deck that is easy to build and wick.

The building part was the main draw for me, i think even more than the clouds! (Not that i mind the clouds, on the contrary - an added bonus.)

dont do it.... stay away from the dark side... and if you think vaping is expensive now, it gets even more expensive..... ;)
Will try my best to stay on the straight & narrow. ;)

Still not used to how much i save with vaping, so every once in a while i blow a bit of it on something new just not to feel weird. (Must be a newbie thing, does everybody go through this phase?)
