Just curious cause after about 4 lung hits off of my kangertech top tank nano I get a huge buzz off of 6mg nic that lasts for about an hour or so.
Are you vaporizing a larger volume of liquid than you would be with a different vape style? If so, then yes.

It can, yeah. That's why you'll hear that if you're doing direct lung, sub-ohm vaping, use lower nicotine levels. I'll occasionally use 6 mg nic in my tanks like my Cloud Beast, but normally I'll only use 3 mg.

You think maybe I should switch to that then maybe? Don't know why but for some odd reason I don't really like to use other tanks like the Nautilus mini that I first started vaping with. I found out that I like to have the "full" lung sensation and with the Nautilus I just don't get that so its not very satisfying to me anymore.

A lot of other people have told me to start out with 6mg nic when switching to sub ohm so that's what I did. Bought myself a 30ml bottle gonna wait til I finish that off then drop down to 3mg and see if that helps.

If you feel like you're getting too much nic now, which if you bumped up the "power" of your gear you probably are, then yes either lower the nic or try to vape less. You can always mix some pure pg/vg with your liquid to lower the nic, although you'll also be lowering the flavoring.

i find it funny/contradicting... but when i started DL hitting i had to drop to 3mg or less, but after switching to 0mg for 8~ months, now im vaping 6-12mg with the same setups.

generaly though, with a "bigger vape" and direct lung hitting, you are getting more nicotine volume but also creating more surface area in your lungs for it to absorb from stretching them for the full direct inhale. you definatly are getting more nicotine than you are accustomed to, and it would be in your best interest to lower it enough.

When sub-ohming (or large direct lung hitting) there's a much higher saturation level of vaper to the lungs, this is why we need to drop the nicotine levels. If 6mg is too strong drop down to 3mg, you'll probably be more comfortable. For now, with the 6mg juice lower your wattage a little and take smaller hits (don't go beast mode), also space the time between hits and you should be ok.

For example, atm I'm waiting on supplies, I'm left with some 12mg juice here (usually vape 8mg). Long as I keep the wattage lower than normal, take little smoke size puffs and space them out I can remain quite comfortable. Ultimately, you want to get your nic dialed in to a point you're enjoying vaping, getting your nic hit and using juice efficiently.

Another example would be one person I saw vaping 120mls juice per day. While watching his video I noticed he was chain vaping the entire time, huge big direct lung hits. I later asked him what level nic he was using, he said "1mg". In my opinion this is silly because he's spending the entire day chasing his nic hit while chewing through ridiculous amounts of juice. The person would be much better off on 3mg and consuming 70% less juice per day.

lets look at the mechanics of DTL vs MTL...

first off inhale volume, the mouth maybe holds 70 ml of air, the lungs ( on avg 800 ml)
MTL you get 100 ml of vapor ( since some inhaling starts ), DTL you get 800 ml of vapor so.... 8 X more nic too, but the body doesnt extract all the nic from the vapor, but enuf to make a difference... :)

"Subohm" implies very little in and by itself though. You could easily build a low resistance coil and use low power (as long as the coil mass isn't too big) and be perfectly fine vaping higher nic liquids.
