I've been vaping at home for over two years now and if there was any offensive residual smell in our home my wife would have informed me by now. She sits directly beside me when I am puffing in our TV room and if I allow the vapors to flow in her direction she is aware of it and occasionally comments about it, but not in a bad way. When I was still on analogs, I couldn't smoke within 30 feet of her with out getting some kind of flak.

That being said, I have noticed that when I walk into my local B&M vape shop, I am aware of a smell that could be taken as offensive to someone that is not a vaper. This place has a lounge with couches and big screen TV for vapers to "hang out" and the place usually has a cloud of vapor from customers and the staff. But I don't think that a single person vaping in a house would cause any residual smells.

Only time I notice a residual smell is when I'm vaping on stuff like caramel, butterscotch, or cinnamon roll all are pleasant and my wife says in free air freshener. pluid like scents and those with absinthe(black licorice) aren't always pleasant and sometimes can linger as well. I have even left, gone to work which usually means I change flavor and came home to smell the sweet smell of caramel after my shift is over. My air isn't stagnant as we leave the central air in auto mode so it does run at least 2 times an hour to make sure our furry kids don't get sick.

It all really depends on what you are vaping on in terms of flavor and equipment. If you can fog up the room like I do there may be a slight lingering smell, but it wont tip off as a smoking smell.

Oooh, hold on...

Are you vaping on Njoy? Are you in this for the long haul or just starting out? :)

(You do know the cost of them, don't you?)

If they smell anything like they taste then I'm pretty sure it is offensive8-o If OP is in it for the long haul I'm sure OP will upgrade soon. My first e-cig was the njoy and it only took one to know that it was already time for something better.

LOL :)

You are wiser than me. My first one was bad, but I bought another... and then another.... and then another charger.... and then a multi-pack of cartomizers... then the batteries started going bad after a months (pathetic really) so 3 more batteries.

Guess how much I cut down on smoking during this period of ££$$ throwing? By about 2 or 3 a day.

My experience is what motivates me to stay on forums. :)

Ya know, I'm just about convinced at this point after reading so many posts about the stink of smokers that there's something operating other than the smeller's nose. I've run my own experiments on this. I have to go to a large VA hospital twice a month with a family member who gets treatments. I spend a lot of time in the smoker's shack... an enclosed "room" with an open arch "door"... the kind with those plastic flaps to keep cooler air (Arizona in summer) in and I've asked people on the elevators if I smell like smoke. I always get "no" and several times have gotten "no, and I'm sensitive to it" or "no and I hate that smell"... all of them hospital staff. One I talked with over six floor stops was a very obvious anti-smoker and he said he couldn't smell it on me. I've tried to figure out what's going on. If some smoker's pores just let go of more odor, that wouldn't account for a dozen or more smokers blowing smoke in the air for at least half an hour and my clothes not picking up the smell. Its still a mystery to me but I'm gonna keep running my little experiments.

I'm not that much smarter. I said I knew it was time to get something better, not that I did get something better:laugh:. I got a v2 starter kit and granted it tasted much better but the quality of the product was just as pathetic as the Njoy. Wasn't untill I got my ego style that I felt like I had really gotten something better. I spent enough money trying to figure out what was "better" to buy a new car.
