By the way, I read somewhere that pushing it down slightly a few times causes the spring to reset or something. Not sure how true it is honestly, still reading up on the RX200s.
Why should they? Attys sit high on lots of mods. You force em down you are likely to break something. The line isn't specific to the 510. It applies to ANY non-Wismec component that damages the mod in any way.
A damaged 510 caused by a non-Wismec atty that had a 510 post that was too long counts as damage caused due to useage with non-Wismec components.
If your atty sits like this:
![]()
And you try to screw it down tighter so it sits flush and damage the 510 in the process, Wismec WILL NOT cover it under their warranty.
What atomizer is that? I've never encountered anything like that, but according to some people, that picture I posted it looks like my 510-pin looks pushed far down. Why should they? Attys sit high on lots of mods. You force em down you are likely to break something.
Wow! Very sorry to hear that! I got a lackluster response, but at least I got one!Well since someone bumped this thread I'll just add that I never got a response from Wismec
Magic Josh if you read the first two pages and watch the video all your questions have already been addressed.... It was not my build, I was getting "Atonomizer short" even without the atty attached and prying the pin has made it function again.
I apologize to everyone as I haven't updated this thread but I have yet to receive a message from Wismec so there is nothing to update with :/
It's been a while since the last post here. I'm interested to see what happened with the warranty. I'm thinking that they aren't honoring it, but the RX200S is supposed to have the DNA 200 510 connector that allows longer thread length on the atomizer. That's supposed to fix the long 510 thread issues.
It was the RX200, not the RX200S that had 510 connector problems.
I bought a Wismec 510 heat sink to put on my RX200S, just in case. It also sinks the heat from the atomizer and prevents the RX200S case from getting too warm.
They ignored both emails I sent them. Just gave up on them.
Go for it!Well even after reading this thread.. I still want one. In fact, the only thing holding me back from geting an RX200s was the intitial investment of a new 4 bay battery charger and 6 new cells.
I still plan on getting one though!![]()
Just to follow up on this; I realize this is old, and I realize the company is located in another country, but in the United States, at least, "unauthorized repair" alone isn't enough to void a warranty. They have to be able to show that the repair was done "improperly" and actually caused the malfunction, or else they're still on the line to make it right. Even that little "warranty void if removed" sticker isn't legally binding, if one were to actually take them to court over the matter, although their legal team is probably more expensive than yours...It's very easy to tell.
Wismec/Joyetech attys all have a specific post length. If your pin is pushed down farther than that then you used a 3rd party atty. If your pin shows signs of scratching because you used a screwdriver or tweezers to pull the pin back up then you've been using 3rd party components to attempt to make your own repairs. To be covered the pin would have to be unscratched and pushed down no farther than the length of their own attys.
