BIG SCAM!
My Dad wanted me to quit smoking and ordered me a free trial. The trial was for 2 weeks. The product took 2 weeks to get to me so they charged for it as soon as it got here. Since I was unable to return the product before the 2 week period was over, I was unable to get the money back. There was no 30 day guarantee.
DON'T ORDER FREE TRIALS!

I'm personally very grateful for the radio advertisement I heard offering a free trial.

I've never heard of ecigs before and the the on air commercial caught my attention. I already had the mindset of hoping to quit smoking analogs so I thought I'd investigate further. Before most purchases I do a tremendous amount of research and quickly learned of the inferior quality and the high prices offered by the company I heard advertising their junk.

I quickly learned of this site and thanks to the wealth of information offered on this forum I purchased both a great starter kit and juice from a recommended vendor. My "stuff" arrived on October 24th of 2009 and I haven't had an analog since - not even a single puff.

I do agree though, most of the trials offered are bogus and don't give people a good representation of what using a quality ecig can be like. Unfortunately, I'd wager to say that many people go back to smoking analogs after experiencing the free trials as well as gas station and liquor store ecigs for the first time - and will forever have a "bad taste" left in their mouth of what real ecigs can offer. The consumer may then believe that all ecigs are the same.

Thanks so much for this info. I almost fell prey to this, while anxiously awaiting for my "starter kit" to arrive. I went so far as to actually fill out my name and address, then I read the "fine print" and believe me...it was fine...like you could hardly read it LOL. But yep, there it was, if you click, you agree that we will charge your card $79.99 and every nonth thereafter we will send you product automatically, and charge your card!!!! Well besides not wanting them to send me product every month. What part of we'll charge you $79.99 is "free"!!!!!

One way to avoid the ripoffs and getting started on your cigarette free life is this...

Most smoke shops have 510s for $50.00-$80.00. Cheaper than a kiosk but two to
three times as much as internet deals. The nice thing about local smoke shops is
that they have replacement parts for your 510 and juices. As a newbie, I bought
from my local smoke shop, $50.00 for a 510 and $5.00 for a bottle of juice. Not
great but not bad either. Don't you think?

Now that I can Vape, I can internet shop for everything else and not have to endure
the waiting. No more cigarettes! It is just going to get better from here.

And for $50.00 I got two manual batteries, two atomizers, 10 carts and a charger.
I figure that is worth it. Check your local smoke shops.

Mine didn't let me try before I bought... I'm not sure I would either. Who knows
where the other persons mouth has been? lol. I did buy a disposable for $10.00
but that thing ran out of battery before I could vape up the second of two carts.
It did work for about 10 hours though and the second cart fits my 510, woot.

Yes, I was one of the unfortunates. I ordered the "Free e-cigs" from a number I saw on a TV ad. I received the samples and fortunately, this is what got me hooked on PV's, and also got me surfing the internet for more information.
Unfortunately, it was an irritating experience with this company. The cig was free, but the carts were $70/20 carts, and they automatically billed me the next month and sent 20 more.
The e-gig they sent would smoke well, but for only 5 to 6 good hits and then taper off dramatically. When I complained to the company, they sent me free carts and a free atty, but it didn't work and I quickly cancelled the whole thing.
I have since purchased a KR808d-1 which I use religiously now and I am happy to say I have not smoked a cigarette since the end of November even though I have three cartons sitting 3 feet from where I am right now. All you ex-smokers (I smoked heavily for 38 years!) know what a temptation that should be, but I have no desire to smoke since I started with a decent PV.

I felt sorry for you that you order the trial, but I felt happy that you finally quit smoking tobacco for the past 38 years.
Just keep vaping.

I too have many cigs left over. I ran out of cigs while waiting for my e-cig to be delivered. So I made my last trip to the smoke shop and picked up a carton. As it turned out all I needed was a pack, cause my e-cig arrived the next day LOL. Maybe we should start a thread called: Inovative thigs to do with your leftover cigarettes LOL.

I don't think I would order freebies....For 1 is ANYTHING ever really free now a days? I have had real bad experiences with my card numbers being stolen so I am very leary about ordering anything online! We have a physical store here where I live and I go to it and buy what I think I need from them!

I almost fell victim to this "scam" twice. Once due to the radio ad and again at a festival where they would let you try one then offer it as free if you sign up for the monthly deliveries of carts. I also found out later, looking through the flier, that they were also going to charge the $100 in 30 days. This is what prompted me to start some research since it seemed like a good idea but there had to be something better on the market. I now have a DSE801 on the way. I got that charger, 2 batts, an extry atty, a pass through, and ordered a juice sampler pack from Original Smoke Juice for a total just over $100.

I recently was up late' and saw a tv ad, said free trial , 4.95 ... SO ofcorse I was impatient and right before I called to order, I went to teh website, and READ the fine print .... HAHA they were going to send me this cig for 5.00 then charge my card another 9.95 10 days later, then if you dont cancel in 14 days, they charge ANOTHER 99.00 and start sending you mounthly carts...... HAHA !!! I knew it was too good to be true, and it was !! THANK GOD my BF aquariumplantsplus is a memeber here, and has directed me to ALL the GOOD retailers, and has let me try all his juice buys, I have bought alot he doesent like, he was a menthol smoker, and I smoke marlboro lights . . I love the hypnotic mist , and I am trying to figure out HOW to make my own, I put coffee, then cherry in my cart, BUT ALL I can taste is the cherry ..... SO maybye you mix BEFORE you put them in the cart ? IDK ... I still smoke analogs, till I can get the right nicotine in my vapor..... But I am SO hAPPY my BF got me on this site , and I am hopeful to kick the smoking THIS YEAR !! YEA ! Him too , so WE can be smaoke free, and eventually adjust are nicotine in our PV until we are completly free of ALL nic.. I am just SO glad we finally found somthing that WILL work !!! I bought the RIVA, I LOVE the battery life, and he has the 510 and the EGO, that I can use anytime I want . he is my sweetie : ) SO I think we have some of teh best out here ... but we will keep trying new PV, and jucies and strengths till we get it perfect : ) I am SO glad I did NOT call that free trial BS .
