Do you ever feel weird about vaping (and smoking) in front of certain people such as parents/family?

Today I came home from a drama rehearsal, and we dropped off one of the people in the play at there house.

Her son who’s just a little younger than me, about age 20: came out the house to help take a box inside the house with a cigarette hanging out the side of his mouth.

And I felt a little shocked and bad about it, because I know his mother wishes he didn't smoke: and I personally wouldn't have felt comfortable as a smoker, or comfortable now as a vapour doing either in front of my parents, I’d feel really embarrassed personally and almost like I was doing something really mean and horrid as odd as that may sound.

Does anyone else feel uncomfortable vaping/smoking in front of family/parents/certain people?

I don't vape in front of my mom out of courtesy but she knows I do. My dad doesn't mind. Other than that I do it everywhere including my boss.

I feel free to vape every place I go , if I where uncomphertabl I would stop going there .

Im good with it where ever I go. Im like Harlen, If I were uncomfortable, I wouldnt go ther myself.
I may have given a "let me tell you what this is" speech to some select friends and family a while back, but now, I just vape away.

I don't feel uncomfortable....but this may be due to age. I'm 46, both parents have passed away (too young), and my siblings are just thrilled that I no longer smoke.

I'm with DetraMental on this one. I'm thinking it may be an age thing. I'm 32, I didn't smoke in front of my parents even after they busted me. Now, I just vape away. Hell, now I'm pushing e cigs on my parents. Peer pressure isn't working though. I may have to resort to bullying. 0_0

I never smoked in front of my dad. He could smell it on me (duh) but never brought it up. I follow suit with vaping. At work it's none of their business. I'm 90% remote, so it's not really much of an inconvenience.

Very few people knew I smoked, very few people know I vape. So, I don't really vape in front of any of my friends/acquaintances, cause I would feel uncomfortable doing so

I know everybody that knew me knew I smoked i'm 43 now and to this day have never smoked or vaped in front of my mother but I have smoked in front of him when we would be working on water pipes or cutting wood, I'm not weird about it just respect there wishes for me not to smoke and so i just continue to not vape in front of them either

My kids, I never smoked in front of them and I do not vape in front of them. Just feels wrong.

Most of my family and friends are non-smokers. I vape in front of them...and in their homes. They don't mind a bit since I'm not stinking up their houses with cigarette smoke. When I did smoke I would go outside but now.....Life is Good!!!

I don't feel bad vaping in public, If someone has a problem with it they will say something and i'll just move along depending on how they approach me. If they're nice about it i'll move away or stop vaping by them, If they're a .... i'll just keep truckin. they can move away from me without having to be a .... about it Lol

Pope Benedict asked me not to vape in Sistine Chapel. When I was in Vatican City a few weeks ago, Pope Francis was much cooler about it and was rocking some Agent Orange in his Provari/KFL set up while we were in private. I was like "Franky, you kicking sub ohm yet?" But he wasn't, just a 1.8 coil. FYI, vaping looks much cooler when you wear a pope hat.
