Do you find that your taste change a lot over time?

as a new full time vaper (just passed a month), I am surprised how my taste is changing. It isn't really that I feel the flavours are different, but somehow I have changed what I like. My favourite fruit one the Capecoder I now think is cloying, whereas Shangri-La (mountain oak) and Lucena (5 pawns), both of which have been gathering dust because I didnt like them initially are now favourites. I know it is probably partially giving up ciggies, but it really is interesting. I am now experimenting with food to see if I can re-discover a love for salad (got a few post-quit kg to get rid of :).

For long-term vapers - do you find that the changes keep happening or does it stop eventually?

I've been vaping for over 4 years. My tastes have changed drastically in past 2 years I'd say. My first 2 years I vaped primarily 1 flavor. I found it and stuck with it. I'm really picky. So, when I find a good tasting juice I usually stick with it. After a while I started trying a bunch of new flavors, but never found much that I wanted to vape. I'd go into a vape shop and taste test juices and maybe find 1 I thought tasted good while there, only to get it home and try it in my own tank and yuck. I found out it was their little clearo tanks... they mute flavors (including the bad ones). When you get it home and try it in a more advanced tank you get all the flavor, including the nasty ones. I wasted a lot of money on juices that I only filled the tank with one time and never again.

We make our own juice and have been for probably 3 years now. So that was a big help. I have over 200 flavors. I have found a couple of good recipes that I enjoy. Now my original all day vape just doesn't cut it anymore. I have a caramel Custard I make that's really tasty and also a Pecan delight. I play with flavors all the time. It's fun and rewarding.

I normally make all our juices, but there's 1 juice I buy every time it goes on sale because it's just delicious. Wakonda by Nicoticket. OMG that stuff is the best juice I've ever tasted. I buy 4, 60 ml bottles at a time. I think if I had to vape just 1 juice for the rest of my life and never get tired of it, that would be the one. I've always bought juices from Nicoticket here and there... but the flavor profile on Wakonda through me. I didn't dream I'd enjoy that type of flavor, boy was I wrong. I love it!

Another juice I will buy on occasion is The King by King's Crown. I really like this stuff too, but not nearly as good as Wakonda. It's good stuff though. It comes in a close second though.

Hiding up a tree
I have been vaping (on and off) for a similar period to Elizabeth and yeah, my taste has changed over the time.
I started off wanting to emulate the smoking experience, but quickly found that a) no juice tastes like a burning leaf b) there are plenty of better flavours to try.
When I got properly into vaping (semi-decent kit) I was vaping fruity flavours and candy types, but I quickly grew tired of those, there was just something about constantly vaping them that did not sit well with me, they just didn't feel right for vaping all day, I had to be in the right mood for them, which obviously is not ideal when I wanted to have my nicotine fix ALL DAY LONG.

So, I moved over to desserts/creams/custards and have not looked back since, they have enough depth to make vaping them all day interesting without having the overt sweetness of candy/fruit which I found to be off-putting. I have stuck to a similar flavour profile for probably 2 years now, pretty much always vaping something with a bit of fruit and some cream in it.

Oh, and I still hate salad as much as I did when I was a full time smoker :) (if not more now)

Tobacco is tobacco. Sure, there is flavoured tobacco, but tobacco dominates.

Vaping gives access to just about anything the flavourists can come up with. And that is a LOT :)

And as your system rids itself gradually from all that accumulated gunk, long dormant taste and smell buds come back online.
When I started out, I had to mix my liquids with very high flavour percentages to punch through the layers n layer of tabacco residue.
Making do with much less now - and enjoying the variety. So much to sample, wouldn'T even want to stick with on or few faves :)

Flavors I would have not even considered a year ago suddenly taste great when checking them out at the local shops. And some stuff I used to vape a year ago I just can't take anymore - much too strong. I think it might be that when I was vaping a year ago I was new to vaping so I needed stronger flavored liquids to overcome the 18mg nicotine. Now that I'm down to about 10mg the flavors are a bit stronger and the flavors in the liquids I used to vape are just too overpowering. That and my taste buds are probably starting to recover. So, yeah. Taste changes.

My tastes change over time and these days center around NETs, dessert flavors, and more recently unflavored Nic base. Am I devolving??

It's on my road map to be satisfied with unflavored. I do DIY and mix only one flavor. I didn't need 10 flavors of cigarettes. I'm also trying to limit vaper creep, meaning more heat and more vaper. I want to keep it satisfying but not some wreckless indulgence that takes more and more time and money to satisfy. May be someday I won't be a vaper. That sounds nice.

The calculator says a year supply of DIY is costing me $50. I'm a cheap SOB too.

Unflavored 70pg/30vg 18mg Nic base from Nude Nicotine is what I vape most daily, augmented with another tank or two with a Net at 18 or 24mg and a lightly flavored Nic base. NN has a smooth clean taste I like. Vaping at 8 to 10w on nautilus minis and a kflv2.

Interesting responses. I do hope I will eventually 'graduate' to unflavoured as it would make it easier to match against whatever I am drinking - particularly good coffee and red wine, which I'd rather not have mixed up with a vape flavour, however nice. Also hope I'll someday grow to like mint/menthol, just to have that nice fresh taste. I also hope that I can drop down my flavour levels. Right now I seem to go with very strong and rich flavours - all a bit pricey, and also prone to suddenly getting too much (I'll all of a sudden go off one if I have used it too much).
Funny how many of you seem to have gravitated towards cakes and custards - it's the only type I haven't taken to yet. But then I was never much of a sweet tooth. But the journey continues!

Thanks. Nirvana is currently not available here in Malaysia, but will look out for it. I really like the idea of menthol and the freshness so will try to sample occasionally to see if I can get to enjoy it eventually.
