I have been vaping for 3 years after 50 years of smoking. Started at 18mg and am now down to .67mg. Will work myself down to 0mg in about a year. Not sure I plan to stop vaping when I get there. I like it too much but would love to get off nic totally.

I could see myself getting to 0 nic but I love blowing clouds and making juice.
This is me. When I started vaping I had no intention or plan of lowering my nicotine level. I started at 24mg e-liquid, and every once in a while, I would start buying the next lower level of nicotine. Now I am almost exclusively at (or below) 3 mg. I don't plan on going to zero, but it might happen. I've bought (and mixed) a few zero nic liquids, but I find that they're just not as satisfying as having a little bit of nic.

Maybe one day after getting to zero nic I'll try to spend more and more time away from my vape. Rather early in my vaping I found that unlike my thought process with cigarettes, I wasn't really planning/looking forward to my next vape after I had my last puff, and that when I stayed really busy, I could go hours without vaping. When I smoked, I worked towards smoke breaks and could rarely go for an hour without stopping to have another smoke. Last year I stopped vaping for a few days just to see if I could. While I wasn't jonesing for a vape, I still thought about it and sort of missed it.

I may stop vaping at some point down the road, and if it happens, it happens. Seeing as I'm stocked for at least the next ten years when it comes to nicotine, I'm not going to start fretting about a quit date just yet.

Yeh, i really like to quit someday.

Just can't do it... yet. Still a major nic fiend.

Right now im geeking out about new gear again
(TPD induced) and loving vaping again.

But there have been more than a few times over the past few years,
where i felt sickened by all the faff that comes with it.

I am not so much a nicotine fiend now but I would miss the ritual and the hand to mouth habit.

Hey all

I think everyone here started using e cigs to ween youself off cigs, my question however is how many people see vaping as the final stop? How many people intend to try and quit vaping?

I am still on the fence with this one, but ultimately I do think at somepoint I would want to get off all products.

So what do you think?

I no longer have any fear of returning to cigarettes. Those days are gone.

I now enjoy vaping. I like nicotine. I have always liked nicotine and fiddling with gadgets.

I have no plans to quit. There are days I put it aside for a while but I always grab the vape after an hour or so. :)

I've mentioned a few times on this forum that I went 2 weeks easily without vaping. I've actually been considering quitting myself and just continue making my dads e-liquid for him. I'm not sure I would even keep my Reo, batteries and such anymore if I quit vaping.

I want to quit vaping ( but i'm not desperate to do so, as i was with smoking ). Will I ? I'm not sure.

I still feel physically dependent on nicotine and psychologically dependent on the hand to mouth action. I am trying to gradually move away from the dependence. I am down to about 2 ml's ( 12 mg ) a day, and falling. I have also been leaving my vape at home when i'm running errands or shopping etc ...

The most important thing is to not go back to smoking, so even if i do quit, i will have my vape set-up on standby and ready for action for the times when i have a strong urge due to stress, drinking etc ...

Smoked for 42+ years, and tried several times, using various methods, to quit. Nothing worked until I started vaping.

Can't see myself quitting vaping, because I enjoy it, it satisfies my hand-to-mouth motion habit, and it's much healthier for me than smoking. In fact, I've had several positive health benefits from quitting the smokes and vaping instead. Plus, I certainly smell better, as does my house and my car!

Interesting points made

I do enjoy vaping, I enjoy the making my own liquids, I feel I still need my elight (I think if my pen was to break I would go to the shop and buy cigs). I do agree though that I feel like I am in no rush to quit the pen. But at the same time too I do hope a few years from now I free of smoking (analog and electrical)

I think ill be around a few years yet though

I will be quitting as soon as my stash of supplies runs out. I'm not happy about it either. Right now I have enough for my husband and myself to last about 3-5 years. That will pretty much be the shelf life of the batteries and juice that I have. I have never tried mods or diy juice. So, I've been stock piling what I can afford. When I am down to about 6-8 months of juice, I will begin to cut the nic down in increments. When I have weened myself down to aprox. 3mg of nic, I will start to chew some nicorette gum. Then I will begin to chew less and less of that. At the end of 5 years I should be able to just call it quits. I will probably be tempted to try some of the gas station cig-a-likes, but those will be a very poor substitute and quite pricey I'm sure.
So. I will enjoy vaping while I can, for as long as I can. I really don't see any other options right now.
By then, maybe (OTHER STUFF) will be legal in Ohio......

Not one to nitpick but you might want to edit your post... drug references aren't allowed. ;)

If you truly want to continue to vape for the rest of your life, 3 or 4 liters of 100 mg/ml nicotine can be bought for about $150.00 to $200.00. Storing it in your freezer will keep it usable almost indefinitely by following this suggestion. How I store my nicotine. Making your own e-liquid is as easy as making a cake from a box 'specially now that you can purchase flavor blends. Battery holders such as a kbox mini, ileaf pico, clouper mini for examples can be had for far less than $50.00 each. Ability to buy batteries for them should not be affected by the deeming regs. Please don't let what is happening with BG, BP and BT force you to do something that you really don't want to have to do.

And for the original question in this thread. No, I do not intend to stop vaping and have prepped so will NOT be force to do so.
