I am really liking these a lot. I have 3 vivi nova (not sure if they are the 2.0 or 2.5) they have the short wicks and they perform well out of the box. I got another but it had the long wicks and it did not want to give me much vapor. It was not just that the wicks were longer the whole thing was different on the inside. Shorter center pin, longer head. all the heads from the other vivis did not fit correctly and leaked as the wick stopper was not reaching the top cap. I dont really know what version is which but for me I get incredible performance out of the shortys. I did a little modding to them, I made the vent holes near the 510 connection about twice the size and the amount of vapor and the taste is much better, shorter breakin time too.
Ive seen reviews on youtube, including PBusardo use the long wick version and have a great out of the box experience so all I can say is that if you like longer wicks leave them long and if like some, you find that they arent getting as much flavor you can cut them down.

ive only used the long wicks. i started out on vivi novas with the 2.5 version. after a tank or two, they perform flawlessly. im not sure what exactly is breaking in- the wicks, coil, something else? but it does take a little bit of time. ive also only used the 2.8ohm heads so far. those wicks are fatter than the 1.8 and 2.4s. side question: anyone have any idea as to why the wicks are different for the different resistances?

most of my liquids are 65PG/35VG. they wick fine.

I use 70/30 liquid and my vivi is 2.5 tank. when I first got it, i left it with long wick, and it would not work very well, get burn taste every other time. So I cut the wick to the point where it just touches the side of the tank. It has worked flawlessly ever since! So every new heads I get, i cut them short. no problems since.

I use the 2.4 head on my provari at about 4.3v

I trimmed my first batch of long wicks, but have since simply cleaned them thoroughly before use, and the "break-in" period seems much shorter, even without trimming. Though I'm still not really sure exactly what's going on, since if I dry burn a coil, it tastes funny for a while, before it "breaks-in" again, and starts tasting good. I use the 2.8 heads at around 3.5v and the (new) 3.2 heads at 3.7v.

I'm using the exact same PG/VG ratio and have had the exact same experience. I'm making my own coils and wicks now and cut them so they just mash up against the tank sides. I've also noticed that the single "fat" wick works better than the multi-stranded wicks for me.

There's been a lot of noodlin' going on about why the short wicks do/don't work/taste better/worse than the long wicks. I tend to agree with the hypothesis that some of the flavors get filtered out on the way up a long wick. I noticed that my old Vision Stone tanks taste better if I trim the wicks. I usually hold my PV within 20-30 degrees or so of horizontal, so the tipping thing doesn't really bother me.
