Don't miss 'em at all. Not the taste, not the smell, not the ashes, not the holes in my clothes, not the cost, not the cancer, not the social-pariah-status. Nope, not a jot nor a tittle.

And I really don't get all this I keep hearing about the "buzz" of cigarettes. I smoked for 39 yrs, and I haven't gotten a "buzz" from a cigarette for about 38 1/2. They must be putting something *strange* in those cigarettes! I got a lot more of a "buzz" from 18mg nic juice.... and right after that, stomach pains and nausea. I'll stick to my buzz-free 6-8mg, and skip the nausea, thanks!

Still got 12 cigs left in the last pk I was smoking out of... they're over 3 wks old now. No intention of smoking them; they're my "no need to panic" stash -- a symbol of the free choice I made to vape instead of smoke.

But if you let yourself miss them, then you probably will. It's all about the choice you make: done with them, or not?

I can't quit analogs. I'm really trying to like ordinary e-liquid but imagine being OD'ed on nicotine and still craving a cigarette. That's a peculiar kind of hell indeed. I've tried WTA, not a lot but a little, and I Think it might work better, but its so expensive I am just disgusted with vaping in general. So, I'm still puffing away, not sure what to do.

That does sound terrible. I tried Ahlusions line of aromatic tobacco and it pretty much feels like smoking to me. There is so much more freedom and enjoyment with vaping. You just have to get passed that hump.

That depends on who you are. Some people have been smoking for several decades, they don't miss analogues at all once started vaping. But some people may feel the flavor terrible and end up with going back to smoking. As for me, I will constantly tell myself why I must quit smoking and always try different e juices to decrease the eager for analogues.

I love everything about vaping....I've learned so much new stuff....I like making my own liquids....and rebuilding my tanks, RBA/RDA's....learning about things (electricity) I never had any inclination of learning...I love the flavors (don't care so much about TH)

...and yet, sometimes I do miss the simplicity of just lighting up a cigarette and letting it dangle from the side of my mouth....

I don't miss the taste of smoking (the very few times I did try and lit one up, the taste was horrible!) and I don't miss the stink of it, but I still like the smell of a freshly lit cigarette (but really really only that first instance of it being lit).

So, I can't say "I don't miss it" but I think I can confidentally say: "I rarely miss lighting a cigarette" (maybe it should be: I miss lighting up rarely ...?), whichever, I think you get it and I answered shoesmith87's question.....I think

:D

Got my first PV last Thursday, started vaping and haven't wanted a ciggy since. Today I was foolish enough to let the battery run out (back-up PV hasn't arrived yet...) and lit a ciggy to stop the craving. Three drags later I threw it away in disgust. It was nasty! I decided I'd rather wait for the battery to charge. :)

for the first couple of months every time I stopped for a coffee I got a sinking feeling when I remembered that I wasn't going to hav a cig but use that vapy thinkymijig. That feeling did disapear, don't remember exactly when ,it just happened.I think the key is to find a set up thats reliable, coupled with good tasting juices (& plenty of batteries).I do not miss cigs at all now & unlike at the start when I vaped because it was that or nothing, now I vape because I get real enjoyment out of it ...perhaps too much lol

WTA is whole tobacco alkaloid. A few e-juice vendors use it instead of the usual pharmaceutical-grade nicotine. Not everybody will notice a difference between WTA and pure nicotine, which is why some people take to e-cigs so easily, and other people, like me, find it a real challenge. Mostly I notice the difference when I'm stressed out and vaping for stress reasons. If it's just a regular "smoke break", I don't notice the difference as much.

I do like the taste of e-cigs better, just physiologically I notice the difference.

i have smoked 31 analogues in the last 2.5 years and haven't smoked at all in the last 6 months. i still feel like a smoke every now and then but the cravings are becoming less and less intense. i don't think i will smoke again and if i can do it anyone can. anyway yes i still won't one but won't have one. if i had one now i really don't think i would enjoy it.

The stinkies are a real "mixed bag" of tricks.

1) I miss the form factor and convenience.
2) I miss the the easy nic hit with added WTA's

then again
3) I don't miss the stink.
4) I don't miss the mess.
5) I don't miss the cancer causing chemicals
6) I don't miss the COPD causing smoke
7) I don't miss the expense (Calculate the per-cig cost from whatever you smoked. Wow.)
8) I don't miss forking over the cash to BT and Uncle Sam. BT isn't getting any more of my $$$$.

So...four years without a cig. Zero cigs. If I ever get a "Just one" craving, I say "No....you'll wreck your personal record".

I think the worst thing is the form factor.

The whole key to quitting cigarettes via vaping, for me anyway, was to completely kill any urge to smoke a cigarette with vapor. I started with a higher concentration of nic, and whenever I felt the urge, I would lean very heavily on the vapor. It also helps to have flavors that you can enjoy as well.

In this way, I literally had no physical urge whatsoever to light up anymore. When I finished my last pack of cigs, I substituted vapor right out of the gate, and the rest, as they say, is history. I am down to 0 nic, and I can't see myself ever smoking an analog ever again.

My rationale has been, If you can get your nicotine, and get some enjoyable flavors as well, why in the world would anyone want to smoke cigarettes and inhale 4000 + chemicals, some of which are known carcinogens?

I was lucky, and developed an aversion to tobacco quickly, within a few days of vaping for the first time last year ...

The smell really IS offensive, I notice it the way I was over-sensitive to alcohol for the first few years after quitting alcohol ...

The hardest part for me is resisting the impulse to criticise smokers. There's been entirely too much of that already ...

Its an unfortunate aspect of human nature, to feel superior by minimizing another. That's what tobacco control is really all about, the childish need to marginalize a behavior, and the people who engage in it ...

Well, that and the tax revenue ... :(
