Getting off cigarettes was already huge for me, and I am slowly working on less nicotine. But I am probably one of those people who will always at least occasionally have a vape.

yea same here. i doubt i will one day sell or give away all my vaping stuff. im sure i will keep it around for an occasional vape. who knows though, i may never quit. i think it comes down to how much i am still vaping in a year or 2. if it still feels like an addiction then i will for sure try to ween myself off of it. maybe its just the excitement of being a new non smoker talking, idk. i feel like i dont want to be tied down to any device or vice anymore whether it be a real cig or an ecig.

My goal was improved health and lower costs. Those goals have been reached. I never actually intended to quit smoking but it was a natural, for the most part, progression with more and more vaping. Thus, I can't say with any certainty what the future holds. I won't know for sure if I'll ever quit vaping unless I try which I have no desire to do right now.

I'm at 18mg at the minute and I hope to go lower over time. But I don't think I will ever completely stop. There's so many flavours to like and always new ones coming out to try. Hopefully one day I will be able to be on 0mg and then after a period if time just completely stop. Nothing's going to be over night though. I've been in 18mg for around 6 months. I will go lower once my liquids are all empty. Only have 8 bottles left of my 18mg

I have no plans to quit vaping. Now, I'm pretty early in my vaping journey, so things could change. I do like the idea of lowering my nicotine intake, however. My heart health does NOT need anymore nicotine (or caffeine, for that matter), hence, the desire to lower my dependence on both.

I was quickly able to go from 24mg/ml strength down to 12 in the first 2 weeks. To me, that's a huge personal health improvement. I'd like to get down to 6mg/ml, but time will tell. I've gone a whole day with 6mg/ml strength, and I vaped twice as much. So, yeah, not ready for a lower strength, yet...I'll try again next month.

So far, my favorite vendors do not make 0 nic joose, and my DIY skills are non-existent (not for lack of trying). At this point in time, I'm happy to keep puffing away on the horn, and enjoying a moderate amount of nicotine ingestion in the healthiest way I can. For those whose end goal is giving up the vaping, too--you ROCK, too. And good luck and happy journeys toward your goals! :vapor:

Only problem I will say that I've found with e-cigs is that I tend to just puff and puff and puff all the time. Obviously when I smoked fags I would have one and that would be it for a couple hours. But now I just seem to live the flavours so much that I just hardly put it down. Don't know if I'm more addicted now than when I was when I actually smoked :S

Some ex-smokers never give up cinnamon sticks or chewing on straws or suckers or whatever it was that got them away from tobacco - some of them even do those things compulsively, for years after they quit. No one judges them, even though some of those "replacement" habits aren't especially healthy.

I personally believe that the Big Lie Machine will have to grind to a halt at some point. I think some of the ANTZ organizations HAVE tried to prove significant harm in eCigs but can't. They have to resort to things like analyzing vapor from discontinued cig-alikes from 2009 to find dangerous components in them... or taking eJuice and burning it at 1500 degrees to show that "formaldehyde" can be in the vapor.

When all is said and done, unless they are regulated out of existence which is a real danger right now... eCigs will prove themselves and of all the horrors, will be accepted as an effective and relatively safe alternative to smoking and/or cessation method. The question of whether we will quit vaping will become like the question of whether we will quit chewing cinnamon sticks.

Been vaping for almost 4 years, I cut the down the nic to 10mg but have no plan to stop vaping, this is way too enjoyable and satisfying to stop, doesn't bother me if ppl think I'm addicted to it, it's cheap and should be mostly harmless.

True we don't know what is the long term effect but what concerns me most is finding new vape gear and liquid that is better than what I have rite now :)

For those non-CASAA members out there, you should join. It' free. There's a new article up about the effects of vaping you might all want to read.

I vape because I like it. I eat the occasional piece of junk food because I sometimes want it. My daughter use to point out the irony of smoking but only eating organic. I won't quit vaping. I'm at 6 mg and do plan to hit 0 by the end of the year.

My vaping devices in no way resemble cigarettes so I don't sully their value by calling them e-cigs (I know, personal mental warfare). Maybe in the not-so-distant future, the medical profession will see vaping as a safe way to deliver certain types of medication. This isn't hurting me or anyone around me so I'll be a vaper until the end. :)

Wow, I don't even know what to say to some of the posters...you're on a website that promotes vaping, but all you can talk about is quitting vaping. You shouldn't be joining CASAA, you should be joining the ANTZ, inasmuch as you parrot many of their talking points! As for myself, I have no plans to QUIT (not quite) or reduce my nic, and lets not even get started on that "demon nicotine" thing that's so popular on ECF.

My end goal has always been to get to 0 nic wean myself off the hand to mouth habit then stop vaping.
Started @ 32mg nic, quickly went down to 24, over about a 3 month period down to 16, now vape 8mg & 6mg.

The progression hasn't been as quick and easy as I had hoped, really looking forward to putting it all down and walking away.

I get that question a lot. My mother asks me that all the time.
I've been smoke free for a little over 6 months and just switched from 24mg down to 12mg. I ended up with some 0 nic samples from VaperCon and although they taste ok there's no throat hit and I like my TH.
So I don't see me going to 0mg.
For me it really has turned into a hobby. I love the high end gear and the thrill of the chase for me is a lot of fun.
For now my mod quest is pretty much over so now it's on to atty's and really good juice.
I haven't even looked into DIY yet other than stash a couple 100mls of Nic in the freezer to ward against FDA Vapegeddon.

I do hope that you didn't mistake some people's choice to reduce nicotine usage (or even discontinue it altogether) as "anti-nicotine" feelings. The wonderful thing about vaping is that is customizable to any one person's needs, wants, desires, etc. I don't demonize nicotine at all. IME, my particular health needs dictate that high levels and quantities of stimulants are no good for my health conditions. That's why I chose the path of nicotine reduction. But I fully support everyone's ability to choose what type of vape experience they want for themselves.

I think it's awesome that those that love the big clouds, or those who need/want higher nicotine, and those who want or need to cut it out completely at some future point have the options to do so in a safe, supported, and accessible manner. All CASAA needs is everyone who supports the rights of individuals to make their own choices. That choice will, of course, not be the same for each of us.

I know for a fact there are members here who no longer vape, but will lend support to those who do. Heck, my MOTHER (who has never smoked or vaped a day in her life) is a CASAA member. I asked for my family's support, and they gave it. You do not have to vape to support vaping rights. And one certainly does not have to continue vaping forever to be a friend of vaping forever.

I don't know either. I am like Robin and think I wouldn't do well without something going on with my hands, but who knows. I think what I would miss most if I quit vaping is the various juice flavors. Seems much better to me to vape chocolate than eat it (pound wise, I mean). I have barely begun this journey, though, and anything could happen. I will just stay open to seeing what that is as it comes.
