I started vaping on July 6th. The day my 901 was delivered and the batteries were charged I haven't had a "real" one since. The 901 did everything I needed for 3 months and still does. I bought a bunch of batteries which made it a non-issue.

Then I met a few good modders and was inspired to make my own. I did it with a Ryobi Tech 4 Flashlight. Learned quite a bit about soldering, electronics and the PV itself. I still have it and keep it as a backup. The battery is just too good, economical and reliable to put down forever.

I hang out at another good forum/chat site and have met Chad over there. Him and a few friends make the Silver Bullet and The BB. Subsequently I have ordered and received a Silver Bullet. I cannot stress enough how cool it is (Chad is cool too, which is important to me as well). The finish, the button, the way it feels when you put in a new battery and screw it back together- QUALITY. Like a good tool- the way it should be. Battery life rocks whether it's the 18650 or the LiFe PO4's at 6 Volts, it vapes like a beast.

Anyhow, that's my two cents.

Started in July 2008 with a bog-standard generic RN4072 pen.

At the same time I bought a Sedansa supermini, Janty Kissbox Classic and Kissbox Yentl, Njoy pen and RN4081 supermini. Never really got on with any of them except the generic pen.

I was in the flush of gadgetry all through the last half of the year so I bought a 901 around September (they were considered the cat's ... at the time, but I only bought mine because they had black batts with green LEDs - a big deal back then). I also bought some Bling cigars and a bunch of one-time use throwaway cigars from Wayne at Heaven's Gifts. I also threw some cash away on Health stuff (via dealextreme, I think)

My gadget fixation was running down by then and I bought a Screwdriver, which sorta finished it off. I didn't buy any more new (to me) models until the Prodigy came out and I only got that to see what the 5v hooha was all about. I didn't care for it (kept blowing up attys and it was too big in my hand) I ended up buying a stack of 18650s for it and I use it at 3.7v only.

So, here we are. My go-to model is still the generic RN4072 pen, although these days it's a stainless steel model. I like waving it about down the pub, which isn't satisfactory with either of my big battery mods, and the cart size is better than the 901, which is the only other atomiser I use. I really think I'm more addicted to the gestural parts of smoking than to nicotine.

The SD and Prodigy come into their own when I'm away from home for a couple of days. This used to involve carrying all sorts of crap around with me but nowadays I jusr charge up the batt stack and head off happily.

So to answer the OP, I'm still using my original model. The funny thing is it wasn't the first one I ordered. I bagged all the brand-name heroes of the time, but they had huge lead times for delivery. In the interim, I scoffed up a Classic Pen set from Jason at the electronic cigarette company. He turned it around in two days and I was puffing on that baby for at least a week before the other models started showing up.

I haven't been disappointed by the RN4072 since the first one I owned.

I started with the Nipro. Was not completly satisfied. Found the forum. Got a 510 and used for several months. Now I got a Little Chuck and use is almost exclusively. The 510 is good but the Little Chuck is much better.

I have about 10 Nipro and 15 510. Don't know what to do with them. Guess I will keep around just in case these are not approved by the FDA.

Curious ... What model was your first e-cig ... And is it still in daily use ??

I was fortunate enough to find ECF before I bought my first one, and did a lot of homework. So I bought 510s from the start. I don't still use them myself. I have bought 2 Prodigys and one Protege, and the PS USB. That's what I use every day.

But my 510s still get good use. I keep them for showing to other people to let them try for the first time. And if they like it, I make them up a little kit of them along with a bit of juice, and give them their start. It offends my sensibilities to have all of that stuff just sitting here, and I get a lot of enjoyment out of giving others a good start at vaping. Win Win.

I started with the 801 and moved to a 510 after 3 months. I tried to go back on the 801 but the 510 just performs better for me. In all fairness my 510 is on a Chuck mod so it is really hard to compare vs. standard 801 but the flavor and vapor were more enjoyable on even a standard 510 battery.

I started with the original Intellicig before the Evo came out (the original was a modified DSE 103). I still use the original atomisers on a passthrough sometimes. Still use my Evos especially on trips abroad. Mini-pipe gets used on occasion but with a KBC atty. Janty Stick is in constant use. But to get back to the question - yes, I still use the attys that came with my first e-cig.

I've come full circle. I started out with the first run of the Dura (510) back in January and then went to the 801, then to the 901 and stayed with the 901 for a long time mixing in the ruyan e-cigar and have now returned to the 510. Now that batteries are not an issue any longer (thank you Prodigy & Protege) the 510 is great.

I also occasionally use the 601 e-pipe for a mellow vape. I can't use it every day though as manual batteries have made me lazy...

Now I use my Prodigy with 510 almost exclusively. I say 'almost' because somewhere along the way I bought the DSE-601, which I use occasionally.

Then yesterday I ordered a Ruyan pipe. Haven't got that one yet!

----

[edit] woohoo! Just got my shipping notice on the Ruyan! :)

Let us know how you like the Ruyan pipe over the 601...

Still use my original 510 batteries with the original attys. The batteries are only holding about half their charge, but I'm amazed at the possibility of the battery dying before the atty does.

Hehe mines in that sorry state too, the batteries are dropping dead but I only ever had one 510 attie die and it was in the cargo hold!
