very interesting placebo study! i'd like to read more about that.

There are many crazy placebo experiments , where they put harmless cream on subjects hands and they developped a skin rash because they thought its harmful. And these people who had 6x strength gains because they thought they are on Dianabol (steroid). I think this question needs its own experiment!

very interesting placebo study! i'd like to read more about that.

Placebos have been reported to produce some rather startling effects on skin conditions. The most impressive of these reports involves the suggestion-related production and inhibition of contact dermatitis (6). Contact dermatitis is a skin condition produced by chemical substances to which people have become sensitized. In the study reported by Ikemi and Nakagawa, 13 students were touched on one arm with leaves from a harmless tree, but were told that the leaves were from a lacquer or wax tree (Japanese trees that produce effects similar to poison ivy and to which the boys had reported being hypersensitive). On the other arm, the subjects were touched with poisonous leaves, which they were led to believe were from a harmless tree. All 13 subjects displayed a skin reaction to the harmless leaves (the placebo), but only two reacted to the poisonous leaves.

But no, the body will know it isn't getting nicotine, Gradual is the best way. My husband went from 18mg to 6mg as I did without ever being told. I told him from time to time that he had decreased. He has never noticed the difference. He also has never refilled a carto or charged a battery. His ecig just works everyday; that's all that he cares about!!
For most this is correct.

I can almost guarantee that if you vape lower nicotine you'll end up vaping more. Our bodies are pretty good at self regulation. ....
So no, it's not in your head.
Yes and this is why esp. if we say very good or excellent at self regulation.
So the nic. needs to be reduced slowly for most.

Note there are some who may only smoke occasionally like when drinking & not every day who may be fine w/ very low or 0 nic. to start.

It wasn't a placebo effect, since I did it to myself. But I have moved from pretty high nicotine juice to 0 over the course of several months. I still vape the 0 nic. juice, but I no longer have any cravings.

I like smoking & the nic. Since there could wind up being a problem getting nic. liquid it makes sense to reduce it.
After one has switched to vaping, ordering it may be the most difficult part!

I think gradual is the key to reducing nic level. Ie dont go from 24 mg to 0, thats asking for trouble. But 24-18-15-12-6-0 mg nic over the course of the year is doable, IMHO.
I vaped a lot when I started (unconsciously trying to establish a new habit, to get rid of the one I didnt want??). Now its toned down, altho still a hand to mouth thing for me.
I personally want to get off the nic. I am impatiently waiting for Halo to come up with their new 0 nic flavors (fingers drumming on table).
I am waiting too, to see the results of your study (wish I could get my spouse to fill my bottles & try the cutting down the nic without my knowing. But he couldnt be bothered).
