My point exactly there no point testing something on animals that humans have already been doing for years.
And for the aggressive person who jumped down my throat it was a question I don't care if you don't want to or do want to smoke .
I'm wondering if people actually don't mind having an uncontrollable addiction now that they vale and not smoke.
I've read Allen Carr easy way to stop smoking and I'm just wondering how e digs fit in.
Define uncontrollable... I can control the volts, watts, flavor, vape, resistance, battery usage, temperature, nic levels, etc etc. I'd consider vaping one of my most controllable addictions lol

Since you seem to think vaping and smoking are synonymous, I am wondering why you posted the question in the first place.

I think you are somewhat confused.

Personally, I do plan to quit vaping eventually. This is purely used as a gateway to quitting everything like my goal was when I first began vaping. Do I enjoy it? Is it a fun hobby to play with? Will the habit itself be difficult to drop? Of course. However, this isn't increasing my health and the fact is it isn't confirmed that it isn't damaging it in one way or another over time either. I eventually want to live a completely healthy lifestyle. I will however, continue to help people who are trying to quit smoking regardless of whether or not I'm vaping.

It is disappointing to see some of these comments over such a harmless question though. I feel confident that it was pure curiosity and not a strike at your personal life.

The reason for animal testing would be for flavorings and other chemical compounds and how they react biologically. We may vape, well.. Not you apparently. But we do, yet we aren't being biopsied or studied in a controlled environment. Animals can be. That's why I'm for it. I want them to study the effects, and I want them to learn all that they can on a molecular and biological level. And the easiest way to do that would be to either have the people here who don't want animals tested to enroll themselves now, healthy, in clinical trials and studies... Or, leave that to the animals. There are so many reasons why animals are good test subjects, one of them is that they are essentially disposable, and we have learned quite a bit about medicine and improved our health because of it.

My father had an artificial heart installed while waiting for a transplant thanks to animal testing. I'm all for it. I've spent the past 10 years in and out of so many hospitals with him, watching the magic of medicine work. Everything they did for him was started with animal testing. My mother donated her live body to science when she was diagnosed with terminal cancer. I'm all for human testing too. But for her it was too late to test cause and effect. She was being tested for treatments. There's a big difference between testing a dying person, a dead person, and an animal.. And different things can be learned through it all. Saying no to animal testing is just delaying data.

I have an ex girlfriend who worked at an animal testing lab in a hospital in nyc and she let me in there one night through the service elevator. The animals were well taken care of, and she used to even bring the control animals home with her after they were done. They don't live very long because of their limited immune systems, but she gave them homes. There are animal lovers everywhere, even in animal testing facilities.

i am not sure yet. I am actively cutting down my nicotine. I started at 12mg, now at 6mg and soon 3mg.
But.. nicotine has it's healthy benefits, like alzeheimer and parkinson are 2 deceases that's harder to develop with nicotine usage or even lowering the symptons.. (i think, read it somewhere) Since i tend to forget all the time, i better keep on vaping :p

On the other hand, the less addictions i have, the better.

But 1 thing i do hate and will always rebel against. No government will say what i can and can't do. I make my own judgement call. I might listen to the government when they are actually concerned about the public health, but the simple fact of the matter is, they are not.

No testing on animals, not a fan. There are already enough of us humans vaping. It's not like they are doing animal trials before introducing it to humans. Let's say they found that some flavorings caused cancer in rats - that doesn't mean that it will cause cancer in humans. Think about how many drugs Big Pharma has passed through animal testing that still went on to cause problems in humans - animal trials don't prove efficacy or safety.

Anywho. I don't want to vape forever, but I don't plan on quitting anytime soon. I didn't plan on quitting ciggies, either :toast:

So they find that it can cause cancer in rats.. So they investigate further. Or they don't find that it does in rats, they don't investigate, and then we get cancer maybe. Might as well have stuck with smoking then.

Hi, at this moment and time in my life I say, HECK NO!! NO WAY! NOT A CHANCE! and NEVER!! Although I've been smoke free for close to a YEAR AND A HALF, I'm still feeling if I quit, I'd likely be pushed back to smoking again. Perhaps it's my personality type, or my nervous ways, or my addictive personality, or my love♡♡ for nicotine, or something to do with my hands, or the great taste. whatever the reason, I do NOT see myself quitting any time soon. The fact is: I LOVE TO VAPE!! :vapor:

I'm curious
Are you satisfied to vape for your entire life or do you want to quit?

I'm good with vaping instead of smoking.

Also are you against testing e cigarettes on animals for them to be fda approved which will be mandatory by 2016 in the UK?
Jade

I would prefer no animal testing was done. That however is unlikely to happen once the FDA gets involved
