the cigarette companies are scared of loosing revenue to vaping so yes they fund MANY anti vaping campaigns themselves. sad but true. it's about BIG $$$$. Not our health and welfare.
I'm going to defend the tobacco companies for just a moment. First they only take in a small percentage of tobacco revenues. Most of the money, 75% or more, goes directly to government. The evil drug dealer in this picture are our governments and they are just as greedy and vicious as any other drug dealer. The ecig market is fascinating. IF it turns out to be as reletively risk free as it appears there is a gigantic market to develop. IF the tobacco companies could get a good share of the ecig market their revenues would be dramatically higher and their margins, reletive to the retail price would be gigantically larger if the ridiculous tobacco taxes are avoided. The tobacco companies have significant disadvantages in an ecig market but also important advantages. If ecigs fulfill their potential to end the Tobacco Age the ONLY losers are governments (and many tax supported institutions). Everybody else wins. It's so pathetic to see our esteemed governments acting like helpless addicts, they way I used to be before I quit smoking. He, he...

There are so many reasons why animals are good test subjects, one of them is that they are essentially disposable

Gasp. :unsure::cry:

I have an ex girlfriend who worked at an animal testing lab in a hospital in nyc and she let me in there one night through the service elevator. The animals were well taken care of, and she used to even bring the control animals home with her after they were done.

They don't live very long because of their limited immune systems, but she gave them homes.

Aw. how compassionate. Poison them for a paycheck, then bring them home.

There are animal lovers everywhere, even in animal testing facilities.

All I can say is I guess the definition of animal lover is different for some of us.

Leave me alone. I will vape until I decide not to...that may be next week or it may be never.

No offense, but what I do with my life is absolutely my responsibility and my choice...none of your or anyone elses damn business.

And, by the way...screw the idea of government deciding what's good for me or anyone else.
Geez! Settle down! If you are so bothered, why post a response?

I'm curious
Are you satisfied to vape for your entire life or do you want to quit?
Also are you against testing e cigarettes on animals for them to be fda approved which will be mandatory by 2016 in the UK?
Jade

The FDA has got nothing to do with the UK.

Blu are a tobacco company, so nobody sane uses them.

Also, the NHS does not say Nicotine causes Cancer.

and, yes. I might quit vaping.

Actually, I think I will quit vaping.

(beware the pig flying over my house....)

It's funny to me how they keep saying that e-cigs won't help you quit smoking or smoke less, when there are literally THOUSANDS of people around here that can completely contradict that bit of total insanity! And we're a SMALL minority of vapers!

Seems to me they just asked a lot of folks who tried vaping ONCE if vaping helped them quit smoking -- well obviously it didn't if they're not vaping but smoking -- and they CONVENIENTLY didn't ask ONE SINGLE SOLITARY SOUL who DID quit smoking by vaping!

They really need this newsflash: E-CIGS ARE NOT A MAGIC WAND! You don't just wave an e-cig over cigarettes and poof! they disappear! You have to actually MAKE THE EFFORT. If folks aren't willing to make ANY effort, then NOTHING will help them quit smoking!

So sick of all the LIES about e-cigs!!!!

That is possibly the worst snippet of a 'study' ever. (I am not attacking you zapped)

59% less likely to quit compared to what? That doesn't even make sense. They would have quit, cold turkey, without eciggs but eciggs made them continue? If someone can go cold turkey they aren't going to turn to eciggs.

49% less likely to cut down on smoking. So this is saying half of the people who buy a junk ecigg from a gas station go back to the gas station the next day and buy a pack of ciggs? Irrelevant. The trash sold in the gas station is laughable, of course a real smoker won't quit after buying one of those devices, they give near zero relief.

"Statistics have not been compiled" but some random dude says they have no assistance in quitting. Great statistic there.

People who believe these types of 'articles' must be the same type of people who watch FOX news religiously.

Lastly, the word used is far different from use. ~40% of highschool students in NY, USA have tried marijuana (I'm pro marijuana) but we are concerned that 13% tried eciggs which are far safer? give me a break people, grow up.
