he means the ring below the wick which is below the silicone cap.
in the bcc on the left.
in the one on the right i pulled off the ring he is talking about and dragged it lower down.
personally i think it is an attempt to reduce the tendency of the tank to leak.
but i don't like them so close the hot coil.
Yes, that's the ring that I'm referring to (NOT the silicone cap).
I gave up on my Protanks soon after getting them, so I never noticed the O-ring until now. As the Evods (and every other bottom coil clearo I've ever used) never had them, I had to ask. Mine were located above the wicks but around the bottom of that silicone cap (i.e., think of the O-ring as the brim of a hat), so I'm thinking that it was hampering wicking. My coils/wick were quite burnt and gunked up, but I may have been able to salvage them by dry burning, soaking in vodka, and replacing the flavor wicks. However, I don't know if I really *need* to replace that O-ring back on the head or not. Anyone?
BTW, I second the "how the Hell do you rewick a coil by threading it through that tiny hole?" question. Is that REALLY what people mean when they say that, or are they referring to wrapping new wire around new wick (i.e., rebuidling)?
