Does anybody use pens anymore?

My girlfriend expressed interest in ecig pens last night. I tried to express to her that its like using a Gateway computer from 1998. From what I know and have seen, everybody has moved away from the low providing mAh internal batteries and the crappy airflow, not to mention the gurgling coils. Seems so long ago, haha.

So, question is, is there still a competitive market for these vape pens that provide a quality vape experience? If she gets one I'd like her to have a decent pen. I wish I could talk her into a regulated mod.

outside of that there are quite a few AIO pens but they are getting larger for sure. I haven't seen the ego style in a while but i'm sure they still exist. I quit dipping many years ago on an ego-c twist and kanger evod tank

Innokin's VV3 and VV4 might be a good choice. Essentially a regulated mod in a pen type package (square profile, won't roll away from you), and not a replaceable battery, but a well made good performer for tootle pufffing. 510 and ego threading, so most anything will go on it - although, of course, 22mm and up tanks would look a bit.... odd  . With a beauty ring, thinks like the Protank line and similar look ok, and work fine.

Joyetech Ego AOI is not quite a pen but still small in size. It was my intro device and I've gifted them to a few people looking to quit in my life with good results. I had to use them with the 1.0ohm cubis BF coils though, the 0.6s included in the kit were too rough for me in the beginning.

I can still take a Gateway from 1998, put in a larger hard drive, load a Linux distro, and have a very nice media server.

In the same way "vape pens" are being reinvented in the form of pod mods. Not all designed to necessarily look like a cig, but offering a small pod either prefilled or refillable (or hackable for refill) with an attractive battery. Handy for when you want to be out and about without a mod in your pocket, or you just want something dead simple and hassle free and don't mind the limitations and expense. The performance of pod mods these days is vastly superior to the "old" vape pens. There's a whole forum here devoted just to them.

Mt baker vapor has single Kanger Evod kits for around $8. Don't knock them, some people need to start out simple. I got my wife two Evod kits after she tried a friend's. It's the first time in my three years of vaping that she's actually showed an interest (smokes a pack a day).
