Does anyone actually use sucralose?

I have some TFA sucralose sweetener. I've used it in fruity and savory flavors ranging from 5%-15% in my mixes, steeped everywhere from a few days to a month. I've had great success with EM, but sucralose seems to be overpowering with a bitter aftertaste. It also coats the mouth more so than other sweeteners and changes your palette.

Has anyone had any success with sucralose? Is there a secret i don't know?

The sucralose sweetener is strong stuff. I suspect you're using too much. Try it at 1 drop per 5 ml & then adjust, but in small increments.

I'm not familiar with the TFA sucralose. I use ez-sweetz liquid sucralose, and it's very strong. I use ~1 drop in 100ml of juice (which works out to less than 1%). For smaller tests I have to use diluted ez-sweetz. I'd probably back off from 5% quite a bit. Even my 1:10 diluted sucralose would be way to overpowering at 5%.

I don't use more than 2% sucralose in my mixes, plenty sweet for me. Too much and it becomes bitter. What everyone else said, go lower.

Sucralose is strong - it's liquid Splenda, if Splanda does not taste good to you or has an after taste you don't like, don't use sucralose in your juice.

I only use it for tobaccos that need major sweetness. And at that I don't use more then 1%.

0.25% to 0.5% here. with my dripper that is 1 drop per 10ml to 1 drop per 5ml

I use it with good results at less than 1%. I've heard that some people are sensitive to sucralose and experience an unpleasant taste at any percentage.

I prefer Sucralose to EM. EM, to me, can have a strange taste and alter the other flavors in a bad way.

I certainly agree about EM. I do NOT like the way that it dulls and mudsup flavors!

Thanks for the responses. VERY informative. I like a higher percent of EM 5-10% so I naively assumed sucralose would work at those percentages as well.

I'll try using it on stronger tobaccos and savory flavors at a lower percent.

Everyones 'buds are different

I use 1-2 drops per 10ml of sucralose when I feel something needs it.

2 or 3% in most of my flavors. Love the stuff!
