Please don't go back to analogs. Try to stick it out because remember if you go back, you just have to quit again and you will have to go through this again. Once you get through this the first time, you never have to go through this again. You may want to try to increase the mg in your ejuice or maybe chart how much you are puffing each hour/day to see if you are getting too little or too much for your personal needs (there is no standard there, just whatever seems right for your body)...then decrease or increase your mg based on that. You might want to talk to your primary doctor. They could have suggestions or even want to test you for other conditions (like thyroid). Any time you think you should go back, you feel tired or can't sleep, take a few puffs on your e-cig, look at pics of the 3 kids and remember why you stopped.

To find your perfect puff might take a little time and money....there is a whole world of different e-cig battery sizes with all sorts of different types of cartomizers, clearomizers and tanks and all different types of juices - a lot to take in an understand - but you should try ordering different devices if you can afford them/if they are available to you to try to find that "throat hit" you are looking for. Figure out if your device can be manipulated to work foryou the way you want it, if not, try another.

My experience has been really positive so far.
Had my last analog nearly 3 weeks ago (I cut down slowly on the analogs over a period of a month first).
I'm now sleeping a lot better, I don't snore as much - so the Wife says
I can walk up the hill to work without getting breathless anymore. I don't have the constant blocked nose feeling anymore.
When I have a day off work now, I feel like doing jobs around the house, instead of just chilling out with the TV remote all day :2cool:
I'm getting a little bit of phlegm occassionally, but nowhere near as much as when I was smoking.
I was a 20 a day smoker for 30+ years.
I do vape a lot though on 24mg nicotine.
So please, please stick with vaping, going back to analogs is the pitts as far as I'm concerned :2c:

Greats advice!!! Thanks a bunch.... As u can see I got a 'hand me down' Provari from the friend who gave up vaping.... He told me it was good, but as a newbie I really have 0....zip...nadda....idea on what 'tank' to go with it nor wat eliquid to go with it, coz I keep getting this burning taste n when I tried to google it.... It seems like "a whole new world" to me.... That's the part which I mentioned earlier about "somewhat enjoying vaping" coz I can't seem to find the right answer to a good puff without the burning taste....

I wish someone had adviced me earlier too..... Or advise me on how to tackle the aches n insomnia that I would go through to quit. Any advices experience seniors ? coz the painkillers and sleeping pills ain't working....

Trading pain killers and sleeping pills for analogs; that's just trading one habit for another. I smoked for 53 years, 1.5 pad. Went to the tobacco store for a carton of smokes one day and saw a little display of some pen-sized ecigs and decided to give it a try. I hated the taste of that particular ecig but I began thinking about all the money I was spending week after week on the stinkies. After some more thinking about if I really wanted to quit analogs or not I decided why not as I have a new carton in the house if the ecig is a failure. The ecig won. I threw an entire new carton of analogs unopened in the garbage the next morning and haven't even wanted one in 2 years. I found a fairly reputable cig-a-like vendor on the internet and have been vaping since. Vaping is NOT a money saver especially if you want the latest and greatest. I am happy with my current vaping setup and have been making my own juice for abut 10 months. I refuse to try to talk you out of ditching vaping because you have to really want to vape instead of smoke and only you know where your psyche is at this moment. Make a decision and stick with it.

Oh I think there are people here who can definitely work with you to find an answer since you have the "Cadillac" of systems going! ;) I don't have a provari so I'm really really ill-equipped to discuss what works best with them. I suggest posting a new thread of your own. Tell them exactly what you have and what you are looking to get out of it. I don't think you will have to buy another battery, but maybe just tanks or clearos and ejuice. I know they will have great advice for you to get it working as best as possible for you!

I will say that Heathers Heavenly Vapes has a 4 bottle 3ml sample pack of 18 mg e-juices of your choice. I just ordered yesterday to see if they have any flavors that work for me. That way I can try a few without have a huge bottle of something I don't like.

Hey...

Ive been cigarette free 6 days now,

Personally I have felt like i have more energy and my general mood has been much better (apart from first thing in the morning where it seems to take a little longer for the vape to kick in). So it seems my reaction has been the opposite of yours.

TBH most of it is psychological, we are in a sense, masters of our own minds. Changes in mood are due to dips in dopamine and serotonin levels naturally produced in the brain. Besides your brain needing time to adjust to to the lack of MAOI in cigarettes, countless research has shown how behavioural and psychological reinforcement can trigger neurotransmitter secretion in the brain. i.e. if your expecting a depression to come after quitting smoking, you will likely get depressed. if you stay positive, believing to yourself that your mood is good, and you dependance on nicotine isnt as great as you think it is, you will more likely transit thought the withdrawal stage of from cigarettes with less ill effects.

Hell... a simple smile and laughter triggers secondary responses in the brain to releases serotonin and dopamine. Next time your feeling low from withdrawal from cigarettes, try watching a comedy on tv while having a nice little Vape session :)

there are other things we can do to help trigger endorphins and relieve mood...

exercise, eat chocolate and sweet foods, or one of my particular favourites is to eat spicy food. stimulus that release adrenaline, such as maybe watching a horror movie, competitive sport, or activity such as bunjee jumping or rock climbing.

certain aromas have also been known to stimulate endorphins, such as vanilla and lavender. Why not try some vanilla E-Juice?

Menthol is also known to increase the half-life of nicotine in the body, essentially making the effect of nicotine last longer, and reducing time between cravings. try menthol E-juice, or if you dont like menthol, simply eating mint products throughout the day would do the same trick.

Hope this helps you, and good luck staying off the smokes.

so for Throat hit I was using 80/20 or 70/30 mixes.. and 24mg nicotine for first 30 days (I tried 50/50 and it didnt give me enough of a 'kick' like you mention)

now I'm down to 18mg nic which is still a pretty good sensation.. just stay at a level that helps you kick your cravings and whatever helps you enjoy it.

as far as insomnia ... cut back your nic levels at night.. 24mg is too high usually or at least it was for me.. i have some 12mg and some 6mg for at night now and its been helping big time.. because I had the same issues I was up until 2am some nights (and I get up at 4:45) so it wasn't working very well! lol

(EDIT: I was also chain vaping just about the whole night which i'm sure didn't help)

that can also add to your moods.. not drinking enough water and not getting enough sleep so theres so many aspects you need to take into account.

sleepy went away 1 week after nicotine free. 12 days nic free. temper spikes i think that is more in your friends head than anything else. he /she is a slave to nicotine like he/she was taught. that's a better description of temper spikes. still fooling themselves into thinking they are being deprived of something from cigs to nicotine. it's all in your head at the end of the day. commit to the path, no backsliding period, and you will be free.

A great veteran. Thank you for your advice.

You're welcome but I wouldn't call my answer advice........more like how I switched. I can tell you that due to unexpected circumstances I had to have a chest x-ray done which was the one BIG FEAR I had after quitting. I DID NOT want to know what showed up on any xray!! I tried to get out of it but to no avail. The xray came back all clear and that was a BIG weight off my mind. I never had any side effects from switching that I know of. At my age, achey bones, insomnia and being tired are a normal part of life. :) I already have most of the illnesses that result from smoking cigs: cardiac arrythemias, renal problems, high blood pressure etc. So think about how you want to spend your later years. Do you want to be on a first-name basis with specialists for all your body parts that smoking has impaired or do you want to still be able to walk, play sports and only have to have blood-work done once a year for insurance? Your choice.

Nope. whenever you have a question, give a quick search or make a post if you can't find something.

You would be surprised by the responses you will get.

becoming a supporting member is on my list of to-do's this week because of this reason.
