Found this photo on the classified. Would love to do the same thing. Not exactly sure how to accomplish. This on was a black one with the surface paint removed. Could you also take a satin silver or polished and paint the accents on with black fingernail polish? Any ideas would greatly be appreciated.

I've done similar work to embossed metal. I would paint the area I want colored being as careful as possible then simply remove the excess with a simple solvent. Another trick would be to lay a thin piece of solvent dampened cloth on a smooth surface and roll the mod on it. This would effectively remove the paint from the raised areas.

This was covered in the modding forum - check there. It's a just a matter of sanding off the finish to bare metal and changing grits as you go. Obviously you can't sand paper the finish out of the divots.
