Doctor on call answered a question about E-cigs to a person considering them to help her quit smoking.
Well, the doc answers with they are not FDA approved and have been found to have
"diethylene glycol, an ingredient used in antifreeze" in them.
She goes on to mention several pharm products along with hypnosis and biofeedback. Yep, ok! No mention of success rates there though.
Needless to say they don't have an active online presence but do have a site you can make comments at.
If you get a chance to get a copy of the mag it's the Oct 10 issue, page 38.
BTW, I hope I am posting this in a proper place?
Judy

As an extra thought, I wonder how many herbs these docs wholeheartedly recommend are FDA approved?

That's hilarious coming from First Magazine considering they 'feature' a fly by night fad diet every single month. As a matter of fact they got into a bit of trouble over this a few years ago. The diet they 'featured' was a huge scam and so were the before and after pictures. A bunch of people got scammed and a few got very ill until someone hired an investigator to look into the person selling the diet plan.

Wow! I had no idea. I don't buy that magazine often but it was like it was calling me and that article was one of the first I even looked at for some strange reason. I rarely ever read the medical advice. Must have been some kind of intuition at work, lol. I just really hate it when answers are so casual without any kind of investigation by the person responding. Poor person that asked may be put off forever and take all kinds of drugs to get help with their smoking habit when there may be a cheaper and safer way. I still have not heard of anyone being seriously harmed vaping which can't be said for some of the other "FDA" approved methods.
