Hi,

Just out of curiosity I was wondering if there are people out there who just supplement some of their smokes with an e-cig? Or do people always quit smoking all together? Is it possible to still have the occasional smoke and then vape the rest of the time? Or would it just send you back to smoking full time?

My father in law still smokes. he is on cig alikes and they dont do him well. He drips like 3 drops and vapes. then drips more. still pack to pack and half a day.

He was down here couple weeks ago. let him try my natural and igo-l that is all tricked out. He couldnt believe it. but didnt want to rebuild anything. Gave him an eroll I had won in a contest for now. and a bunch of my diy juices and some I didnt like.

So for fathers day he is getting. my old natural, 4 18350's, 3 protanks, lots of different ohm heads, I2 charger, little bottle of everclear, tube of noalax. Might get him some juice if he ever tells me which ones he liked that I gave him. Hope to get him all the way off cigs soon.

I just started vaping 2 weeks ago, my wife 3 weeks ago. She has not had a real cig in 3 days with today being day 4. She was smoking about 1.5 to 2 packs a day. She just doesn't see any reason to smoke anymore. I on the other hand have only slowed my smoking down to maybe 6 cigs a day from about 15ish, maybe a pack on weekends. My intentions were to save money on real cigs which I couldn't believe has already went from 2 cartons every 7 to 10 days for the both of us to less than 1 carton in the past 3 weeks.

I have quickly grown to enjoy vaping more than smoking. I was the type to not really get much if any flavor from cigs and I think it is wonderful and amazing the flavors you can get and taste with vaping.

I think the smoking I still do is a combination of two basic things. The least of the 2 would be wasting the money I already spent on the cigs. Second being the habit. That morning and good night cig is still a little rough to drop. Then there is work, I'm a quiet person and I just don't feel like explaining what I'm doing and find it easier to just refer myself to my first reason and smoke a cig.

There is a section in this forum somewhere about vaping and smoking. Honestly, there is no right or wrong way. I know several people that do both. One gentleman has a couple of cigs a day and vapes the rest of the time. That's perfectly fine. Who am I to judge what anyone does. It doesn't make me think less of him. I kinda like that rebel side. ;)

If a person can quit smoking altogether. Sweet. If a person cuts back more than half. Sweet. Whatever works.
I had quit smoking for 9 months and started back up. Mr. Robin was terribly disappointed. I never, EVER, want to make anyone feel the way that made me feel. He got over it. He just didn't understand the addiction to the habit or the chemicals.

Celebrate what you do not smoke, do NOT beat yourself up, or let anyone else, over what you do smoke.

I smoked a few cigerettes for the first few days. Then, I told myself, That I was not going to have ONE. THE ONE, has always been my downfall. I know that if I have ONE, It will lead to two and then right back to 2 packs a day or more. So, IMO smoke if you have too, but if you make the change to vaping totally. Don't smoke. If you hit a time of stress, my downfall , increase your nic or vape. Heck, both if you have too.

The day I received my vaping kit I gave up the ciggies and haven't smoked since.

Some people find it difficult to do that though, so they continue to smoke and vape, gradually reducing their smoking over time till they are ready to give it up altogether, it's whatever works best for you in the end.

It took me about 6 weeks to make the transition. During that time I was trying to find the right device and juice strength. By the time that was accomplished, I was down to 2 a day. I then got a small bottle of 24 mg and vaped that first thing in the morning to replace those 2 smokes. That is what did the trick. Tomorrow will be 50 days smoke-free.

After smoking 2 packs a day for quite some time I experimented with some "less than exciting" disposables. My friend introduced me to the broader world of vaping. I still smoke analogs here & there, as I'm still trying to find the right strength & flavors of e-juice. I do realize that after vaping for a while, that "much needed" analog flavor isn't as satisfying as it used to be. Hopefully they will be gone for good very soon.
