Wanna hear owner's opinion. For me it looks like
1) Bigger battery draining from the screen and from processor
2) I afraid screen can blind on the sun
3) No custom FW available, stock FWs sucks (but nfe team promise something)
4) Screen brighness can be lower than monochrome display

What can you say about battery life, does colorscreen affects on it?

I have no interest in color screens myself. My favorite screens are my basic dna ones. All my current daily mods have the same type of screen. Afraid I will hate the Cylon screen. Believe I read I can at least keep it on the clock only.

Why would your vape need a screen? You people are silly.
Why would your submarine need one?

Honestly, it doesn't.
My favorite mods are all squonks, and none have one.
So, yeah...

A color screen will indeed create a greater drain on the battery, but it will look pretty. Or make it easier to find the info you actually need amongst a sea of useless information you most likely will never use.
Build your coils right, you don't need to know what your amperage draw or voltage usage are. You'll already have a very good idea of what they ought to be, plus or minus a small difference as your battery life dwindles away...
True safety is knowing that you're built right, and safely in the first place, as opposed to having extra protection. Extra protection is great for entry level users, and advanced users will likely never NEED it.

A color screen does NOT drain the battery any faster, at least not noticeably. By far the largest drain on the battery is the coil. The second largest is going to be the back light of the screen which does not care what color screen is in front of it. Third biggest drain is going to be the monitoring circuitry, last is going to be the LCD itself. Think about how long a tiny watch battery can power an unlit LCD watch screen for. Literally YEARS. So a color screen MIGHT make your battery last 0.001 second less.

Even the back light, which is the second highest drain, is going to be such a small % compared to the coil that it is going to negligible itself. Like it might make 2 puffs per charge difference vs no light at all, if that. If you are really concerned about the screen and the back light, run it in stealth mode. I promise you won't notice any difference.

Now the real question is, does it really add anything? It might add better contrast. A color coded battery level might be nice. It can add some unique customizations. But really it doesn't add a lot. It's all comes down to preference. Really, you should buy the mod based on the other features you do or do not want and don't sweat if it is or isn't color.

I just realized I didn't really answer all of your points, so here goes.

First, the only color mod I have is a DNA 75C board in the HCigar VT 75D.
1. No there is no noticeable battery life difference. See my previous post.
2. I have had no issues with brightness and on this board that is customizable.
3. The stock firmware is amazing, with a PC based prog you can even change the layout of the screens.
4. See #2.

Is this true for all color devices? No. Then again things like firmware and brightness vary from mod to mod anyway, regardless if they are color or not. So generalizing about these things isn't likely to yield any real usable info.

Don't know . Now lite flat and fake-monochrome/3chrome interfaces are popular and usable.

I can not say than I like a lot curent vape interfaces when I see screenshot. It's quite wildy and have too much elements, like 200x.

Also, IMHO, colorscreen devices should be bigger than bicolor. I still use and like 22mm and my favorite devices is iStick 100 :D and Cuboid 200, coz they slim.

I like Cuboid for this and this screen on the top, but it little heavy, uses serial connection (I prefer parallel, but mostly only TC100 has this) and button is not so comfortable like TC100.

You have your own submarine? Cool.

I'd say more than the screen, the power conversion chip (and of course what wattage you run it at) is going to make the biggest difference. I had one mod where the chip conversion was so poor I really got awful run time compared to my other mods (none of which, other than one DNA mod that I have that has an extremely simple screen without bells and whistles) has that much of a display function going on.

I would really love a mod with a clock, but mainly because I'd love to have to not bring my phone everywhere too just to tell the time.... I am not a watch wearer, I break them. But, unless your screen is doing something really crazy, shouldn't make a HUGE difference, although it has been noted you can go into stealth mode and turn yours off, if you so desire, or at least shorten the display time if that's an option with your mod.

Best of luck,

Anna

Seems the questions have been answered, I'll just chip in with an observation.

A lot of mods use OLed screens, some are overdriven and some aren't, but Oleds do suffer from burn.
Might be provident to run the mod in stealth mode to extend life of screen. Especially if you are intending to keep the mod in use for a long time (for me see miser!).
