Hey ECF,

So when i first starting vaping, it was amazing, flavors lasted forever and never got dull... on my old eGo C-Twist with a Carto at 12 nic, but ever since i switched to RDAs and even the uwell Crown etc., flavors suck.

Best example i can give is i bought KeyJuice - Berry White - 60ml, and it was great with the 0 nic. sample i tried in the shop. I went home tried it in my uwell crown with a new 0.25 Coil and tastes like nothing, no creamy strawberry like in the shop, i tried on my RDA with a dual 316L S.S. 9 wrap at 0.22 ohms with the Scottish wicking roll in an Avocado RDA meant for flavor. Is it the low nic that has killed all flavor? or are my taste buds just completely immune to flavor now lol. I also got KeyJuice - Golden Apple - 60ml and first tank was good but after, nothing.

Well, if you could taste it in the vape shop, it's not your taste buds. What gear did the vape shop provide for testing flavors?
I used my Aeolus Lite RDA, it has the same build as my Avocado RDTA, its like first hit is good, after that its just bad. Maybe i'm building to low? Is there no such thing as good flavor with medium clouds around 0.25 - 0.15 ohms?

Try eating something super sour like a lemonhead or one of those super sour kids candies to reset your taste buds. That has helped me a time or two.

So if I understand, you used your own gear to taste in the shop, then that same gear lost it's taste when you got home? If so, this is a bit odd.
It's kind of like my taste buds gets immune to the flavor after i try it a couple times. I'll try the sour lemonhead thing though.

Are you continuously using the same juice? If so you can get used to the flavor over time, so it's best to swap to something you haven't been using and then switch after a couple days to enjoy your favorite again. The vapor doesn't ruin your taste buds I don't think, as I have noticed my taste coming back along with my smell after quitting analogs and making the switch to vaping only.

I am a flavour vaper and find 0.5 to 0.8 ohm at around 24 watts produces the best tastes for me. I use 3 different RTA's with the same build/temps and swap tanks of different flavours every hour or so to avoid vapers tongue.
If you eat the hottest vindaloo all the time it becomes a bit meh, you have to mix things up to get the best out of them.

I have seen juice in the well of an RDA turn pink from the heat, and lose flavor. I ended up deciding the "flavor RDA" was only superior on the first drag or 2 because of this effect.
I do like an RDA because of the ability to flavor surf.

I also think high volume vaping gets fatiguing quicker.
Might be this... but i only vape 10ml a day, on the weekends probably 15ml. I'm insanely in love with my Avocado RDTA, maybe Stainless Steel 316L coils aren't the best for flavor? or maybe i just can't taste creamy flavors anymore lol. I leave all my ejuices on my desk, maybe i should start refrigerating them to keep them fresher? Anyone tried this?

THIS ^^^ Read the Article, (I literally buy big bottles and only vape it until its finished which takes me about 2 weeks of the 1 flavor) Before this KeyJuice purchase i was buying 234ml bottles of e-juice from Mt. Baker and would only vape that big bottle for about a month straight but it all has become like the article suggests, bland, and my taste buds have become immune to it all. Vapor Tongue! Also the fact that i've been vaping Creamy eJuices consistently for the past 2 years, so first thing i need to do is hydrate, then i'm going to vape my 100% VG 3 Nic unflavored ejuice for a few days, give my taste buds a break from all flavors then buy 4 different 30ml bottles and switch between them throughout the weeks.

Refrigerated e-juice is a recipe for dry hits till it comes back to room temperature. The VG just gets too thick.

Hi LD, I agree with Jdurand above regarding dry hits/thick, cold juice, but I would still be tempted to keep 200ml+ bottles refrigerated and just decant 10/15mls each morning to keep at room temp. Especially now the warmer months are (hopefully) coming.
I do what you plan by having a few flavours on the go, I swap about all day long and honestly can't say I suffered from the Vapers Tongue :p << look.
Just an hour with another juice and my current adv tastes brand new again. I hope your little break works out well.

first off go to your shop and see what they're running...they're doing some type of max flavor build....most shops i've been to are the same...they produce minimal clouds but top tier flavor.

i feel the same as you...but ik i'm fine whenever i go to the shop and taste theirs if you had vapors tongue you wouldn't even taste theirs.

i'm like 80% sure its a build issue and the rest is a juice issue (VG/PG ratio... ect)

if you want intense flavor like the shop you gotta build for that...if you want clouds you build for that too...you typically can't have both from my experience atleast...some will disagree but i personally can't taste much if i want big clouds...or barely get any clouds when i go for flavor..

Last night i vaped on 3 different flavors on and off which two were MAX VG and it was a lot better and i kept drinking water during my vaping session but one of my ejuices in general was 50/50 PG/VG and wow it tasted amazing throughout the vaping session, i've always vaped 70/30, 80/20, MAX VG juices and this one specifically was a free 10ml sample sent to me.

Some things to try:
1. drink more water - vape dehydrates your mouth slightly and will cause you to not taste flavor as much "vaper's tounge"
2. let your juice steep - if it was mixed right before you bought it, the flavors might not have mixed together. think of it like brewing beer. if you mix the yeast and everything and try to drink it right after its gonna be no good...
3. new wick needs to break in - after changing your cotton make sure you prime your wick. make sure it is soaked with juice before you fill your tank. if you are using a tank, take some hits without firing. this pulls the juice through the cotton allowing full saturation.
4. accustomed to the juice - switch it up! there are millions of flavors available in store, online, or even DIY. if something gets old or you're used to it, you won't enjoy it as much.
5. vape unflavored - try vaping unflavored - either pure vg or your preferred mix - and then try vaping your flavor again. kinda resets your taste buds!

hope this helped!
