Most websites claim this battery can only fire down to .4 ohms. What is low resistance protection? Is the battery supposed to shut off if it detects a coil with too low resistance? I ask because last night i put a tank with a .3 ohm coil on the subvod and it did not shut off. I only took a few drags but it seems to fire this coil without an issue. Was puzzled because it was supposedly a .3 ohm coil and subvod batteries claim to only be able to fire down to .4 ohms.

Does low resistance protection mean the battery would shut off?
I've never tried it......
Depends what you mean by shut off - it probably just blinks at you, indicating "I'm not firing"....
These sorts of things are not recommended. There used to be an eGo/Pen type battery that claimed to do 100w (I can't remember the name) but people said it vaped like a 60w battery, which makes sense to me. The chip in it should either stop it working because the resistance is really too low or the amps are not possible - but that's only guessing.

I guess the resistance was not off enough for the battery to not fire or else i guess it would have refused to

Just dug out my little manual that came with my Subvod...and it says "Coil Resistance: above 0.4 Ohm"

It also says: "When the atomizer resistance less than 0.4 Ohm and press the button, it will not working and the button will flash."

"Caution: Do not use the resistance wire value others than specify."

So personally, even if yours WILL fire below that...I wouldn't push it with lower than recommended.

Welcome and glad you joined.
You must be closed to the " no atomizer" indicator or your protection is not working. Might want to contact:

Depends on the device. Some devices like the DNA chips (well on my DNA40, at least, and I presume on the newer ones too) have what's called "soft limiting" where it will still fire when it detects a resistance outside its operating range but it won't fire at the full specified power, it will actually reduce the power by however much it takes in order to keep the voltage (resistance too high) or amperage (resistance too low) within spec.
