As I order my first juices and samples I'm curious if the amount of nicotine in a juice (6, 8, 12, 18, 24mg) has any effect on throat hit. Or is it just PG ratio that effects TH.
Does Nic level have any effect on TH?

Nic has a direct effect on TH.
PG on its own has NO TH, ditto VG. Zero, none, nada. Be careful when you read posts where folks say things like; "PG has more TH than VG"... it is badly worded prose. PG allows more TH to come through than VG does but neither offer TH on their own accord.
I would suggest you try 18mg out of the box and adjust thereafter. Good luck and congrats on making/trying the switch.

I personally have noticed that the higher the nic level seems to give your mouth that somewhat "prickly" inside for lack of a better word, while more PG seems to give a deeper throat hit. And btw, welcome from Raleigh!!

PG is thin and lets TH and flavor through best, as well as nicotine irritation
VG is thick and dulls/smooths everything PG lets through but adds some nicer vapor
And depending on your vaping method, what you use may work best with the thinner high-PG juices which work with all vaping methods.

There has been some discussion about PG vs VG on various health related sites. After some research it appears that there really isn't anything dangerous about PG. It would seem that a blend of the two at various levels is preferred and that the percentage of that blend is a matter of personal choice. It makes me wonder if the "propaganda" against PG is another ploy to discredit the benefits of switching to vaping and the companies that supply those products. Has anyone determined if that is so? It just made me wonder.

Absolutely! I made the mistake of ordering an eliquid with a high nicotine level. I simply couldn't handle it personally.
For the conifurable samples and small bottles I have been ordering that is what I have cosen 70/30 w/ 24mg. I smoked Reds and Pall Malls for 20 years but I am hoping to work down to a lower level at some point.
Some of the samples are only 16MG so it will be interesting to see how they are.
Much thanks for the feedback, getting into vaping is a pretty confusing task but this place has made it possible! Learned alot in the last 3 weeks thanks to everyone here.
