Does the provari v2.5 work with button and flat top purple efest IRM 18650 High drain 35A Batteries?

I use efest 2000mah red 18650s on my provari but I recently bought a mech mod so I can get into building low ohm coils. My red efest batts need to be replaced anyways as they are getting old now and I would like a high discharge battery which I can use for normal ohm coils on my provari as well as sub ohm coils on my mech mod. My mech mod will work with both flat and button top batteries and I would like to know which ones will work with my provari too.

I hope that wasn't too confusing. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Not with a flat top but you're fine with the button tops.

I always sand the flat tops and apply a blob of solder for any batteries that are 'too low' for my Provari - safer than a magnet.

Don't let the battery get too hot for obvious reasons.

Are you aware those do not test out to actually be 35 amp batteries. If you are lucky they can deliver 20 amps at best.

Test of Efest IMR18650 2500mAh (Purple) 2014

You would be far better off with the new additions to the AW line. See RTD Vapor for the specs on the new AW's.

Not a problem with the Provari - amp limit on the 2.5 is only 3.5amp, it's probably not an issue if you're not super sub-ohming on a mech but potentially catastrophic if you like .1 builds.

I agree with you regarding the superiority of the AW's - old as well as new.

Understood, but it speaks yet again to the general qualify of the eFest line. After trying eFest 18350 V2's and 18500 V1's that had overall poor performance and short life spans compared to... anything else - that was the beginning and the end of my dealings with eFest. You might save a buck or two over other batteries - but you still pay the piper. The mysterium 35 amp battery that isn't a 35 amp battery should be enough to make anyone consider eFest to the the TrustFire of IMR batteries.
