Does the atomizer do most of the work?

If I were to take a 510 atomizer, find were it connects to the battery then connect it to an external power supply of proper voltage, insert a cartrige and press the button and inhale, would it work?

Or is the battery more than just the power supply?
I know it has the light but I could live with out that.

only if you have a manual switch..................the battery has a sound or pulse activated switch in autos...........

the quick answer is yes... it's just a battery.
however. you would have to choose a comparable, adequate power supply.
(you can't start your car with a hand full of AAA batts) lol

passthroughs, mods and virtually every commercial product sold here is just a variation of an adequate power supply to hook up to your favorite atomizer.

and of course the switch, as happily stated above.

Atmy and liquid are the men, you can power the atmy with any thing you like if you know how, you can throw away cartrige and batteries.

Here is the analogy, the battery is the battery of your car and the engine/transmission is the atomizer.

I always thought of them like a toaster.
The battery is the power source like plugging your bagel maker into the socket
The cartridge is like the rack inside that holds the goods to be heated up.
And the atomizer is the resistance coils making heat to do the cooking.
