I've Ignored Steve, So if he says anything worthwhile others will have to inform me. I doubt it, but you never know. BTW, this is my first ignore... gratz Steve! I apologize to the group by being sucked into his madness and losing focus on the topic at hand.

One other thing that Mitch Zeller said is that he intends to finalize the deeming regs in June of 2015. There may have been enough pushback from vapers to postpone that some, but Mitch hasn't changed that timeframe that I'm aware of. If that is the case, we are in the end stage of the deeming regs and I really think vapers should be very concerned at this time. Any ideas anyone has to get more vapers involved, now would be a great time to discuss it.

I'm a little concerned that I haven't received any communication from CASAA lately regarding this, and I'm more concerned that CASAA has focused more on mitigating the regs by pushing for things like extending the grandfather date of juice and devices rather than defeating the deeming regs altogether. This has me worried more than anything I guess. Any insight you all have regarding this would be appreciated.
As far as the FDA regs are concerned, I'm not sure there is anything we CAN do at this point, except for supporting moving the grandfather date. That is a secondary, in case issue, but should still be supported. For the regs themselves, it's hard to tell your congressmen to oppose it, or change it, when we haven't seen what the final regs are.

We're stuck in that "pre" stage again where we're waiting to see just how bad things are going to be.

AMS has numerous smoking booths and don't care about vaping. Delta doesn't have a direct flight from the US to Vienna...

Don't get fixated on Delta. We need to get you on Germanwings. Barcelona is a beautiful city, you can have tapas, beer and a smoke on a patio right in front of Casa Milà or Casa Battló, what's not to like?

It's not Prague. I'll take the terrace at the hotel restaurant on Namesti Republiky drinking a Pilsner Urquell, vaping Prime 15 and having a bloody rare fillet mignon over tapas and Spanish beer any day...

Stay focused, Steve, it's all about the airline not the beer.

I sort of agree YoursTruli - sort of! LOL

I still blame the ANTZ for their part, but I still blame the ones who give up too easily - I know I'm hard headed, but for others who get tired of beating their head against that wall, just take a short break, then go back to beating on it.

Just imagine if every vaper did JUST ONE THING to help the cause - write their rep or senator, join casaa, donate to casaa, educate peers, etc. - I doubt we'd be preparing for the hammer to fall now.
This.

It's my understanding too that the deeming regulations are to be finalized this month since we have not heard anything to the contrary and agree with Lessifer at this point there is nothing more we can really do except give our full support to moving the grandfather date which still is a huge deal. The last communication I received from CASAA was a call to action for Ohio against any proposed taxation on ecigs/liquid which I am glad they are keeping on top of too amidst all this federal craziness.
I am really worried how all this is going to play out, another recent delivery from specialty bottle and MFS to my house isn't something that I wanted to have to do but felt I needed to do because of all this.

It's certainly very clear that you've been paying attention to this thread and the other one that's been dragging along on the same subjects for what seems like weeks now... months, maybe. It's easier to change an ANTZ's mind than some VAPERS' minds about how we should be "compromising" despite never coming up with anything the ANTZ are prepared to surrender in order to make it a TRUE compromise.

No quarter. No surrender. No rationalizing. No compromising. I'm fully aware that the FDA and the rest of the clueless gov't is going to do whatever the hell it wants to, but I don't have to like it, I don't have to give in willingly, I don't have to surrender anything. In the immortal words of Don Henley... "I will not lie down; I will not go quietly; I WILL NOT LIE DOWN."

I was listening to The End of the Innocence tonight, and I swear that man is a prophet.

I'm pretty sure at least one person is "ignoring" me in that thread.

Good for vendors, I guess...
Good for vendors?

Vendors are the ones that aren't doing squat.
Vendors are the ones NOT fighting, not making their customers aware.

Vendors share a ton of blame for our lack of effort and focus.

Can't fool me with that. I still believe You're uSing ranDom CapitaliZation.
I've been studying zoidMan's posts for years...
And as far as I can tell it is most definitely random...

The more he insists that it isn't, the more I worry for his sanity.
Or maybe I'm just not smart enough to figure it out.
:)

No offense to zoid, whom I consider a good egg.

Stockpiling probably keeps bottom dollar vendors in business...
Yeah, but you always act like this is some sort of vendor plan to scare vapers.
Which is not even remotely accurate due to what I said previously.
It's not Prague. I'll take the terrace at the hotel restaurant on Namesti Republiky drinking a Pilsner Urquell, vaping Prime 15 and having a bloody rare fillet mignon over tapas and Spanish beer any day...
I'd go with the tapas and Spanish beer, but that's just me.
As long as we're not talking blood sausage.

That stuff is beyond nasty.
Almost as nasty as Head cheese.

And Pilsner Urguell doesn't really do it for me.
But then again, I don't know of a good Spanish beer, so...

I guess I just really like tapas.

I really have to agree with you Katt. Freedom is won, not given. And if most ignore the issue and don't even try to join the fight it's awfully hard to gain freedom. If all vapers spoke up it would be monstrously loud and impossible to ignore. But that doesn't seem to be the case unfortunately.

I'm not going to blame anyone for not fighting hard enough... or not fighting at all. It's an individual choice. But I won't have much sympathy when the freedom to vape is lost and the folks who never even joined the fight start whining.

I know the folks in this thread see the future and what is going to happen as a result of the complacent attitude most vapers seem to have. So I guess the question is, how do we reach the folks that have ignored the issue so far and don't feel a need to participate in the fight? We know that it will be exponentially harder to repeal regs than to block them in the first place. So frustrating.

I, like you (and most in this thread), am stubborn and will continue to fight. But I really despair of the opportunity lost to fight the deeming regs at it's easiest point with the full voice of vapers, which is before they are passed.

There is also a large group that has just started to discover vaping and is clueless about the need to fight. Wouldn't it be nice if vape supply shops and online stores could include a flyer or awareness pamphlet along with purchases? I am sure there are lazy vapers out there but I also think many people don't even know where to begin to help the fight. I cannot tell you how many new vapers have never heard of places like ECF, CASAA, or any local movements. When the opportunity is upon me I always take it to not only tell the person am in conversation with but to ask them to pass it along as well. I was never a bumper sticker person until now. My car's window is covered with Support Vape stickers. Does it do any good? I don't now, but I don't think it is hurting. I agree with you that it is frustrating but we need to work with what we have until we can build a stronger force. Yes, it is much better to stop it head on, but we may need to do it the other way.

I'm blaming them.

All they have to do is join CASAA or vaping militia so that these agencies can speak for us with a louder voice.

5 minutes... that's all they have to give...

Tapatyped

Correct, but more people need to learn about these groups in order to join. I know quite a few vapers and it never ceases to amaze me that so many of them have no idea of any movement. If I had not done a bit of research and found ECF, I wouldn't know about any of those groups. It would be nice to see more venders online and shop owners handing out information to up awareness.
