Does your Evic VT whine and tick?

After taking a vape in Temp Ni at 550 , 60 W, put the unit to your ear. What do you hear?

In my manual, the only reference to unusual sounds I can find is that of crackling of the atomizer when firing after not being used for a day. This is a high pitched whine and rapid ticking that I can hear after vaping, especially on the charge port side. It stops if not vaped for about a minute. Perhaps I have an odd unit. Perhaps I missed the reference to this sound in the manual.

We have seen some threads and concern about the humming noises coming from the eVic-VT units. We sent a message to our rep yesterday afternoon and we received this message.
Directly from our Joyetech representative:
eVic-VT has some characteristic sounds in operation. These sounds are very low in volume, and can typically only be detected by holding the device close to the ear. eVic-VT boost circuit inductor emits a continuous high-frequency buzz, and the switching system that detects atomizer resistance produces an intermittent ticking noise rather like that of a quartz watch. These noises are normal, and should not cause concern in any device that is otherwise functioning normally.
When the device goes into standby after a period of 3 minutes without use, or if the power button is pressed 5 times, all such noises will immediately cease.

Not in mine. Perhaps I have an earlier version of the manual than yours.

I have one on the way and will soon know but I wonder if the hum is worse than the Sigelei 100W+ screen noise?

I've never owned a Sigelei 100W, but on the Evic VT the noise is really only audible if you put it up to your ear. Knowing now that it is a normal feature of operation, it really does not bother me.

Yep, mine makes the noise.
It mentions it in the manual last page (page 9) under precautions number 4 right above warranty terms.
