Awe..if your vet dn give you this. I cry every time I read it (& ima manly mma loving guy)

.Rainbow Bridge.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge..When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge..There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together..There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable..All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by..The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind..They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster..You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart..Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together.....

Our Scraps is 4 now. We were told he is a Golden/Yellow Lab mix, but we are pretty sure there is Beagle or some sort of Hound in the mix somewhere. We got him at 9 months old, through an ad on Craig's List. He has a bunch of hangups, and is on Prozac daily. We found a really good trainer when we were in Ohio who really helped Scraps and us, and helped us in getting the medication he needs. He is absolutely fantastic with my teen grandson, who has autism. With some of Scraps' behaviors, I sometimes wonder if he is on the spectrum, too. We are not even certain if the guy we got him from was his original owner. Scraps has 3 "thinking brain" cats to keep him company. The trainer used to laugh and get a kick out of the relationship Scraps has with Hex, the tuxedo, who is less than a year younger than Scraps. They are best buds. We have pretty much given up, for now, getting Scraps a dog companion. Every time we have thought about it, the Powers that Be sent us a cat who needed us. Right now, with 4 furry babies, we are full up. All of them we consider as "rescues". We got Scraps first. Hex came from an adoption event at PetSmart. He was one of a litter that had been dropped off at the local animal shelter, and was due to go back if he did not get adopted, so daughter brought him home. Stitch found us about a year later - literally. We were babysitting a friend's dog the weekend just before Halloween. Grandson and I were in the side yard with the dogs for "last call" before bedtime when I saw a black animal walking up to grandson and our friend's Jack Russell. It was a small black kitten. We could not leave it out wandering just before Halloween - not a black kitten. All the shelters we called the next day were full, and did not anticipate any openings for about 12 weeks. Stitch is still with us, and a more loving cat you cannot imagine. Freya was one of 4 VERY young kittens that were dropped off in someone's yard. A friend of my daughter's took them in and found homes for all of them. Freya is still trying to find her place in the "boys club", but she was the first one to notice that Scraps was getting ready to have a seizure a few months ago. We are in a rental house, and the owner has a service come out every 2 months to spray outside for bugs. We had had Scraps for almost 2 years before we moved here, never a seizure or any health problem. Within a week after we got here he had a seizure. It took us a few months to put two and two together, but he always has a seizure within a week of them spraying. We now have them only spray in certain areas where he does not go and is not likely to be exposed by him walking on a sprayed area or us doing the same thing and bringing the stuff in. They use a pesticide normally safe for animals - it is in some flea prevention stuff - but with him being on medication we think it is affecting him. The last 2 times they were out, after we really restricted where they spray, he has not had a seizure, so we are pretty sure we found the culprit. Nice pics of everyone's babies. Will have to see if my daughter can help me figure out how to get pics from my phone to here.

This is Molly, aka Officer Molly, the Hall Monitor, or La Polizia:

All are rescues.

And this is our latest foster, Ms. B, all 6 pounds of her; she came to us 2.5 weeks ago as a hospice foster, very old with congestive heart failure and an expectation that she was failing and might have 2 days or might have a few weeks. She was an owner surrender at the shelter. She spent 2 weeks at the vet before coming to us... now that she's in a home with good food and lots of attention she's a completely different dog and has bounced back so well I think our short-term hospice foster might have a good couple of years left. :) Paws crossed that it's so!

And for you dog lovers, I can't recommend the rescue I foster for highly enough - they are an 11th hour, last chance rescue for senior dogs and difficult medical cases. Please put them on your Christmas list. :) Link in my sig!

This is my pup, Kay. I got her when my son was probably just under a year old, so she's about 6 I suppose, same age as my son. We had her stay with my dad when I moved away to a bad city, she would have surely got stolen and used for dog fighting there I bet anything. Then when I moved back to my home town, we got her back and she is my boy's best friend, goes where ever he goes. She's a really good pup if she would stop digging holes! She likes grubs I guess lol

Re: digging holes....

Go out.. Find all the holes that she dug up, then find some of her poop, put some in a hole and cover with dirt. Repeat with all the holes. Everyday or every other day and treat all holes she digs the same. It works for the same reason dogs can be housebroken... They don't like to be in contact with their excrement..

If there is a, real shady spot that she dug a larger hole she might be trying to cool off.

It's never a shady spot it's either in my garden or right where we walk from our porch to the yard. Very odd places. And she flings the dirt so far I'm looking for fill dirt to fill them in. I'll try to do what you said, she's pretty secretive as to where she does her business

it's the easiest way to fix that problem I ever found. Its not 100 percent but is what I always suggested to try first. The problem is that digging is a self reinforcing behavior. When they dig and we aren't there to direct them and diacourage the behavior, it feels good to the dog so they keep doing it..

Source- I stayed in a holiday inn express once.. Oh and I was a pro dog trainer for ten years.
