Here's a little Ego board-based box mod. I had some working high mAh batts from broken Egos and a working vv spinner board and potentiometer. The round, silver knob is the voltage control. I broke off the Ego board micro switch and soldered 2 tiny wires to its tiny pads (tricky)- then fitted the mini toggle switch as the on/off. It works really well and feels nice to hold. The photo is a bit crappy. That's a £4.00 Protank copy with dual 3 Ohm coils on top of the Ego connector.
The next one I make will have an internal vacuum switch and a kill switch on the case so that it will be automatic firing but give unheated primer puffs when you push the button.
These are just intended as a fun way to use up some waste bits off of my bench and an old Dominoes box. I still have the dominoes though! You can charge a mod like this with an Ego USB charger so no batts to fiddle with and it is inherently protected against shorts etc. Of course, can never deliver the current that a full-on mod can but still had me blowing clouds with a decent tank on top
