Sounds like you got a few defective clones.
I have purchased a few myself, none of which had any issues.

Not an insult. I have been working with my hands all my life and fix more than I replace. I'm also 60 and it took a lot of learning to reach this point. I'd be more than happy to assist and quite often do......................When someone post a request for assistance.
Somehow I just didn't read that concern in the opening post.
As of now I am done buying clones. My first mech mod purchase was the blackhawk panzer clone with a trident rda. Both are ....! Trident V2 clone has all kinds of problems with posts, and the blackhawk threads catch every .......ing time! Not to mention the well known voltage drop. At this point the trident was useless. So I ordered the TOBH Atty. Love it! Well machined piece of art. Works beautifully and easy to build on. Last week a coworker bought a panzer clone with an atomic rda clone (from the same B&M). He gave up on building after 5 days and so he traded me his panzer, atomic rda, sony vtc5, and charger for EVOD starter kit. I made out like a bandit, I thought. The panzer is better than the blackhawk, but the atomic is already broken. I mean BROKEN!!! I don't know how this guy can stay in business selling this garbage. Both RDA's were less than a month old before completely breaking. Even with the broken rda I still made out on top of the trade, but I learned one valuable lesson when it comes to vaping. NEVER BUY A CLONE AGAIN!
OP, just curious what you mean when you say your Atomic clone is broken? I've had mine for 2 months now and it's a champ. My only gripe was that the post holes were tiny, but I drilled them out with a 1/16" bit and now I can fit anything in there! My Atomic handled a drill fine, I'm just curious how yours is broken.
But my Hcigar M16 is a champ. Threads are smooth, nothing catches, the finish on everything is great, and it's survived a few drops. I had a buddy of mine's Panzer clone cross threaded at the locking ring though. He couldn't vape for a few days due to it being stuck in the locked position, but he managed to back it out.
Some clones are definitely better than others
Before I had made the trade with my coworker he showed me his sad attempt at a build (probably why he gave up mech mods). It wasn't firing so I adjusted the positive pin. When I decided to rebuild it today I needed to do the same thing, but it was too tight to adjust. Finally I used pliers and a better screwdriver. This thing wasn't going to budge. I even broke the head off of a flat head bit. Finally it started to turn and the positive post turned with it. At this point I cannot get it loose and the pin is almost stripped. I don't know what else to do. Unless he's a complete ....., I don't see how he could have tightened it down that hard. Possibly melted the insulator to it? Any ideas? If I can get it out I could replace the pin.
I understand what you mean, I really do. I would prefer the "real thing" all the time, but my wallet says different. My biggest gripe is sellers trying to pass of a clone as the real thing. I hate that I have to check to see if something is real or not with a scratch off.
The market is too saturated with clones and that makes it frustrating. Like someone said, research research research before spending money on a clone. Sometimes for me, paying for an authentic item outweighs paying for a few mediocre clones. I have several kayfun clones that work pretty good most of the time, but I have never regretted buying the authentic kayfun. There is a difference, especially for someone like me who doesn't haven't superior rebuilding skills. I just bought a mini Kayfun clone. I haven't tried it out yet, but I can tell you, I would never ever spend 165.00 for the real thing. It's fun to get it and if it isn't a five star vape, no great loss. The nice thing about clones is, you can decide if the authentic is really worth it, and buy it later, but the flip side, if you get a bad clone, you might miss out on a really good tank or mod because the clone left a really bad impression.
The bottom line is, I just want to vape and relax. For those people who love to fiddle and fix, the clones are ideal. The truth is I only buy clones cuz my kids spend all my money, leaving me with few options. I need to quit spoiling the kids!!!!
