Can someone please explain flooding the atomiser?

And could some one tell me "IN DEPTH" the best way to fill your cartridges without burning the atomiser out. I have a dse901. I keep ruining my atomisers. Do I fill from the bottom with the little foam or drip onto the top of the foam? How many drops? And how much is too much?
Sorry if my question sounds denseI am just trying to make sure my three new atomisers last. Thanks people.

:) I use the Volcano e-cigarette, a as far as I know I simply drip 3-to 4 drops into the cartridge (which has the absorbent material already inside). Take a close look at the inside of your cart and you can determine how much e-liquid to use. If it looks really dry go for 4 drops, if you see a wet filter go with 2 or 3 drops. If you add too much it will come out of the cart into your mouth, Not a very pleasent experience. If you want to switch flavors, vape until the inside filter is dry, or switch to a new blank cartridge. Then simply run the atty under warm water for a second or two, and let drip dry for a few minutes. I have yet to blow an atty. Maybe the one you have is defective? Try another one, and this will tell you. Most attys need to be broke in, try a few small puffs before taking one big one. Kinda like smokin a cigar. How, this helps?

Flooding the atty simply means you put too much liquid into it, so that it leaks and/or does not work properly any more. You can easily do that with carts and by direct dripping. I'd know, I manage regularly ;D

When your cart is empty, pull it out, turn it around so you can see the fluffy stuff inside, and slowly drip liquid into it. As soon as a drop does not disappear any more into the fluffy stuff, wipe that drop of with a paper towel or similar. Then just re-insert the cart into the atty, and you should be fine.
(You will learn in time to avoid that last drop that is too much, but for now, just wipe it off.)

Where are you ordering your product from? This might be a factor. I ordered a DSE901 that came with a bad atomizer. (Glad I ordered a backup.) Then ordered a DSE084 and it too came with a bad atomizer. I too am having several issues and have myself become paranoid about direct dripping. (That's just me though.) Best of luck.

Dripping is when you put 2-3 drops DIRECTLY on the atomiser, putting the cart back on (or not) and then vaping what you just dripped on the atty. If you are not pulling the filling out of the cart you are just refilling the cart, and that is not "dripping".

If you flood the atty, take the cart off and blow out the excess juice.

The problem with the 901 (which I still love by the way) is that it only has on hole for air flow. If the liquid blocks the air flow, your vapor and performance will drop. The best way to clear this is the blow it out or soak it in hot water for a few hours and set it out to dry/drain overnight. This video was very helpful to me (way back when) and is great general advice for 901 or 510 users in general.

YouTube - DSE 901 E-CIG USER TIPS AND MAINTENANCE GUIDE

It's hard to believe this video is over 11 months old! Seems like I was just watching it yesterday.

I wonder, are atomizers generally dishwasher safe?
I have never tried it but if I had to guess, I would say that the comination of high pressure spray and caustic dishwasher soap would be bad for the atomizer internals. I don't think it would clean any better, but would be more convenient. I think I may try this when I have an atty on the way out and nothing to lose.

I think dishwashing soap has bleach in it. The bleach would most certainly eat up the atty over time. Especially the little seal around the post which appears to be a rubber or maybe silicone material.

And, don't forget about the rinse aid (Jet Dry) that coats the glasses for better water sheeting. Oh, and the power of the jets would probably shoot the atomizer around like a pinball.

This really is the best advice.. When I started vaping and reading these forums I tried every different way to clean them. Sometimes it works for a short time but in the end I felt like my time is more valuable than to sit around fooling with a 8$ piece that wasn't made to last forever.

i would just blow out your attys. Any time ive tried to clean any of my 510's they slowly died. Dry burn at the most to do some cleaning, IMO

Mosh,

Depends on how many you want to buy.

Madvapes has 510 attys for $7.00 each, but may not be genuine Joye 510.
MadVapes LLC

Puresmoker has bulk discounts:
5-14 @ $7.99 each
15-24 @ $6.49 each
25-50 @ $5.00 each
PureSmoker.com - Home of the USA Built PV !!!
Look for a little button on the right side of the page that says "View Quantity Discounts." I bought these, got free shipping, now I'm set for a while.

Unless you have a favorite clone 510 atty you have to be careful. I only use Joye atties which can be bought from LiteCigUSA for $7.95, buy 2 and shipping is free. And MadVapes clearly states his are not Joye. Most of the 510 praise, great TH and vapor, comes from the original Joye product with it's 2.3 ohm atty. Seems that everyday a new clone pops up. Feellife sells clone atties for about $3.20 (and no I haven't tried them).
