VG and PG are proven safe for consumption, I thought you vaped it though sorry.

PG is licensed for inhalable medicines and injectable medicines by all authorities, and licensed for long-term high-volume inhalation under all employee health regulations (it is the main ingredient in theatre/disco fog). However, note that individual tolerance may vary and allergies have been reported.

Got that from a website.

Always a wise thing to avoid diketones , vaping hasn't been around long enough to know what kind of health issues that might arise in the future .

Even cigarettes took many many years before consequences started popping up .

The below info hits it on the head .

Any respiratory issues that may be shown to be an issue in the distant future will never be called "Popcorn lung" it will be related more to COPD and other respiratory diseases .

Thats a big "if" though . I don't vape juice with diketones just to eliminate as many possible risk factors as possible. Many medical professionals believe it's the diketones in cigarettes that are a big contributing factor for respiratory issues.

I am also not dumb enough to believe ALL e juices have far less diketones than real cigarettes , the famous "Five Pawns" e juice company had juices that tested to have diketone levels that exceeded that of real cigarettes.

With thousands of e juice company's out there i know they aren't the only ones . With people consuming MUCH more juice than ever before with sub ohm and high wattage it's a concern .

If i was in my 20's and 30's i wouldn't care but at my age and living dangerously when younger i am paying for some of those decisions now with health issues.

To each their own though

Our schools banned fog machines that use PG like 15 years ago. The first study to show it could be harmful was in 2005 but the school board could obviously see kids coughing and some even getting headaches, dizziness, drowsiness and tiredness the studies later found. It was determined safe in a 2000 study but only under exposure guidelines. Sadly no more studies have been done on PG fog machines but I guess they got their answer 16 yrs ago. They are mostly water, dry ice or nitrogen based now. Same goes for inhalers, family members have 3 different ones and none use PG. COPD and Asthma inhalers, I don't know what other illnesses would use an inhaler though. I love my vape but I'm not counting on lobbyists information to be truthful to me... been through all that before already.

Another big one was Flavor Arts original Butterscotch site claimed none contained diacetyl but it was through the roof and was removed after being tested. The problem is diacetyl isn't added to a juice its produced so claiming your juice contains none is perfectly legal. The fact is most artificial flavors do although in many it's well within the occupational safety levels, people who work around it are in large factorys with ventilation and wearing masks not inhaling in directly to the lungs so studies that use this as a guideline and say its safe are grossly misinterpreting the OH&S standards. Some say its 95% better because of the RCP, a self proclaimed group of experts with no information to back it up. I'd say after the FDA takes over and the truth is revealed the actual number will be somewhere between what lobbing advocates like AVA say and what ANTZ and Prof.Gantz says. Better then smoking but still bad for you.

So as a new mixer is there a list of flavors that doesn't contain diketones?
Generally cream, custard, milk etc... I know TFA/TPA list acytol propinal or however it's spelled if it does. Others should to I think, never looked. Go through all the TFA/TPA flavours and you'll notice a pattern. Other then huckle berry, IDK why that does, mostly fruit and berry flavours are best.
