Dr. F's study

I find that interesting, although without any info one which juices they tested or which flavoring ingredients were involved, it does not have a lot of immediately practical use. But thanks for the link, more info is always good, IMO. And the GFN site that page is part of has lots of other info that looks worth reading to me. I wonder where they got their info on DA and AP in tobacco? Suppose I will have to find the paper(s) that the infographics are based on to learn that.

Yeah, apparently that's only basically a preview..

The official paper isn't out yet...

From what I understand, he won't be releasing names of the manufacturers, but privately contacting them "to do the right thing," as he put it in a post here at ECF..

And I hope when the paper does come out, that he describes in detail how & why these "sweet flavor" samples were chosen.. I think that plays a huge role in the results...

Anyway, I think vapers should probably be mindful of what they're vaping.. Yet at the same time, don't be making mountains out of molehills, either...

Yeah, it would not be fair to name the manufacturers, since they almost certainly did not check juices from everyone that makes it.

But if the specific flavorings that contain/produce the DA and AP can be identified (assuming it is not from the nic, PG, or VG, which seems like a safe assumption), that would be helpful for everyone.

What it boils down to is that w need to start using flavorings that are DA & AP free.

I think this is debatable..

For those who want to, go right ahead..

I think it's probably important to know what's in there -- that way vapers at least have a choice..

As for me, I'm fine with naturally-occuring diacetyl in natural flavorings, including some custards & creams sometimes...

Partly because of this (bolded mine)..

"...at levels that were higher than the strictest safety limits but significantly lower compared to smoking."

On the other hand, to touch on what's been brought up elsewhere, perhaps some people may want to think twice about sub-ohming at high wattage 20ml of vanilla custard made with artificial flavoring every single day... :D
