I think it's a very good idea. The hard part is finding honest reporting from "respectable" news sources that we can digg.
Well, from what I have seen over the past week or so, more articles, videos, etc are coming out that are positive or at least partially. With exposure like we are giving these today, I suspect more people will jump on the bandwagon and write/create more positive things for us to spread around. This could very easily become quite viral if we do it right and everyone sticks together to help increase the exposure when new things do hit!

Well said.

Keep in mind not to over do it and mix some other diggs in between. Digg monitors your IP. If we collectively digg the same stories, without contributing to community, we all will get banned.

well i just did my part, i know we didn't need a dr's validation but this is huge for the general public

I beg to differ. We very much DO need a doctors validation. Many of them in fact. If we want to keep the vaping supplies flowing freely to our doorsteps we need good, solid, pro-e-smoking publicity from every corner.

If you'd like I can host a mirror on one of my domains. I've got unlimited disk space and bandwidth.

Thanks. I will be all set though. I wanted to get this site up to speed and I know I have plenty of bandwidth to spare. If my cup runneth over, I will definately keep this in mind.

Worse case scenario would be my main host would just temporarily block admission until the next billing cycle. 8-o But looking at my cpanel stats, I have yet to even scratch the surface of the bandwidth I am allocated.

Ok, cool, good news. I web design as a hobby, and so I have more than a dozen sites up and running, probably another dozen domains I'm not currently using, and a very ample hosting plan with a phenomenal hosting service. The offer will stand for you should you ever need it.

What in the world is this about? It's posted under the comments on this story on the digg site...

If diggers are wondering why this item is popular, you should know that there is a concerted effort by e-cig forum members to digg this story so it gets publicity. See this post here where someone first got the idea: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/e-cigarette ...

You will also might notice that when you go to that e-cig forum the owner is advising people to create a digg account and digg that story. And so he should. Though he rarely contributes anything to the forum (This has been his first appearance in a long time) he does make thousands of dollars a month because 100+ suppliers there pay him $40 a month for their own sub-forum. He was also offered a huge sum of money for ownership of the forum. He also collects revenue from the ads.

It is in his interest to keep e-cigs legal, and of course he wants you to join his forum and click his ads and keep it popular - profit. You will notice that he has posted a link to his forum here in these comments. Though the forum used to be the corner stone of the e-cig community, it is now actually tightly censored due to his business interests. threads that are critical of his business partners are deleted and no-one can question the authority of his mods. Consequently a lot of the old forum members who built that place up and made it what it was have left, disgusted. you will find them hanging out now at vapersforum.com

Be wary of any links to any sites in these comments for this item. You might have noticed that e-cig.org is linked to twice in these comments once each by the husband and wife team who own the site. e-cig.org is a blog front for a store that sells grossly over-priced e-cigs. Because they repeat regurgitated one-sided information as regularly as diarrhoea about e-cigs and post links to their site all over the net they rank highly for e-cigs in google and consequently they can rip off naive people as much as they like. Remember that e-cigs cost about $10-$15 wholesale if you plan on making a purchase.

I expect more links to sites that make money off of e-cigs in these comments as this story is dugg by more of the e-cig hive so just be careful what you click on. "e-cigs are great, check out this site"....etc. If you do make a purchase, make sure you ask whether the liquid contains dietylene glycol. They don't know of course and no, diethlyene glycol is not in tobacco. It is not safe. It is highly toxic. Sellers are up in arms about the FDA wanting to take their easy money making business away from them, but you won't find many of them paying out to test their liquid or give any assurance of how safe it is apart from taking about it in a round about way or referencing tests carried out by different companies.

While the intent of the posted links on Digg seem well placed, a few many are starting look like opportunistic advertising IMO and some of the Digg regulars are tuning into that, diminishing the sincerety of posts, in their opinion. Suggest keeping link posting to a minimum. Perception is everything in what were trying to accomplish!

Here is my reply to whateverthehellpony:

"They don't know of course and no, diethlyene glycol is not in tobacco"

"It is a humectant for tobacco"

Really? I could really care less about your claims that this is an attempt to make money. All I know is that I haven't smoked a cigarette for 10 days. That is a miracle.
