I've been searching but can't find much relative to my question.

I really like the draw on my Mini PT3 without any airflow control mechanism. I want a larger tank but can't seem to find larger sized ones in the PT3 line. So far I've tried the nautilus and that was a leaky, gurgling airy mess. The new innokin Gladius performed well except for the draw being to airy.

Are the Kanger Aerotanks just as airy? I'm really not liking these airflow control things. The draw is too tight when completely closed up, but too airy on the smallest settings.

Well if you already have say a PT3 or can get you hands on the aerotanks that still have the "V1" airflow base you have limitless control over the draw. Rather than the natilus or V2 aerotank base that has 4 sizes to choose from the V1 base has a twisting ring that can slowly cover up the holes giving you more control.

No. I have 2 Mini Protank 3s. I like the draw as it is. I can't find a larger Protank 3, only the minis. I can find Protank 2 s by the dozen but I like dual coils. I have already wasted money on a Nautilus and a Gladius. The Gladius has the slide opening like you mentioned as well but it still has the same problem: closed all the way is too tight but even opening to show the slit just a hair is too airy.

I'd prefer a regular sized PT3 but I cant find them. All I can find are Aerotanks or PT2s. So the Aerotanks just like the Nautilus and Gladius tanks where the draw is super airy? I really don't feel like wasting more money.

Protanks tend to have airy draws. It's just the way they are built. If not into getting an RBA how about rebuilding the Protank heads? I found rebuilding the head on my Protank II down to 0.8 ohm gave more vapour and kind of offset that loose draw to a pretty satisfying vape.

I mostly got into rebuilding the heads to save some money. I was finding that the vape quality started to degrade after 2 to 4 days. After ripping a head apart to see why I found a lot of crusty gunk around the coil. Up here in Canada at the time the local shops were selling Protank heads for $5 a piece. Less than I was spending on cigs but still money out the window.

Eventually got tired of rebuilding Protank heads and got into rebuildables and haven't looked back.

I find the KangerTech AeroTank mega to be substantially more airy than the PT2 ever was for me, even when adding an adjustable air base to our PT2, the Aerotank mega is substantially more airy (which I happen to like). Even sliding the ring to the smallest part of the slot on my mega still makes it more airy than using the PT2 without an adjustable air base.

So, if you don't want an airy draw, then I'd have to say stay away from the AeroTank (at least the mega version, not sure if the regular or giant are any different).

I use protanks on miniprotank bases. Try it.

There is also the miniaerotank, which uses a different airflow base than the aerotank.

If you are willing to wait, this could be your solution. The EVOD MEGA is coming out soon. This one in the link below shows it with the mod. I am sure the tanks will be sold separate soon also. It does not appear to have an airflow controller.

Kanger EVOD Mega - Coming Soon

Also, I have this tank also, the AEROTANK MOW MEGA. While it has the airflow controller, it does have a tight draw at 2 holes open. Way tighter than the Areotank MEGA.

PT3

Kanger ProTank 3

They also have other kanger products, parts and pieces. My go to place.
You can get a air flow attachment for the PT3 it will be as airy or tight as u want it. + it is Pyrex and stainless... sleek.

Wow! Finally a PT3! Is Kanger getting rid of this tank? They still show it on their website, but it seems so hard to find! I was kinda hoping I could find one in a B&M, but the shipping at that place isn't bad at all! I'm just a little bewildered as to why Mini PT2s, Mini PT3s, and PT2s seem to be everywhere but even online it's hard to find a PT3. I guess if I was desperate enough I could have ordered all the parts from Kanger's site directly but that just a pita IMO.

I could get by on just the Minis though, but not having to refill as often is a nice convenience. I'm also now wondering if I should stock up on these tanks and replacements parts. Every company seems to be going over to tanks with the airflow control devices. I simply don't like them. I think that maybe because I've been vaping so long I'm used to the tighter draw that was common on much older setups.

I was really happy with the draw on my EVOD tanks until I got an Aerotank Mega. I find I love the airy draw and now EVODs feel like trying to breathe through a coffee straw/stirrer. I'm ruined on all other tanks now. Its Aerotanks or nothing.

Not me. I don't like it. It seems to be a game of getting the draw tight enough for my preference without flooding the coils and I typically vape higher VG liquids as well. The thinnest I'll go is 50/50. I also can't stand the sound that comes out of them. It sounds like I'm standing in a wind tunnel whenever I take a puff. Ugh, I'll pass.

I guess I'm just old fashioned and have been vaping too long! LOL I still use old type 510 attys for dripping!

i don't get it.. so set in the middle? at least on the aerotank mini valve, it has a wide range of adjustment.. surely if it still doesn't float your boat you can always drill more holes or just cover them up with a piece of tape.

It seems he is saying that it's too tight on the smallest hole but too airy on the next hole for him. I'm guessing that he's saying that there needs to be more sized holes between the smallest hole and the next sized hole.

I will say though that you may well get used to it eventually. While I dislike anything smaller than the largest opening on the AeroTank mega and anything smaller than the largest hole on the 5 ml Nautilus tank, I do eventually get used to tiny pin holes like in some of the other Kangertech products. But we're vaping so it shouldn't be about getting used to something, it should be about enjoying it from the get go. Hope you find your perfect tank.

i thought the new aerotank mini v2 airflow valve addressed that problem.
